Thank you very much bro, I believe same as your fj09, but some time I get confused about the oil filter that they give me with different end code number but they say same thing as fz09, the 60 and 61 end, anyways be safe always bro

Hello! Please share what Yamaha oil filter and drain plug gasket part numbers you used. Also, per the manual, the drain plug is torqued to 31 ftlb. You shouldn’t need a breaker bar for such a light bolt load. Otherwise, great video and camera angles!!

Hi... l am glad l found this video. l just did an oil change and this was very helpful. Unfortunately l did not have the Yamaha tool but l saw you use some sort of caliper to remove the oil filter. What is it and what size is it? l saw a video on Revzilla where if you did not have it and the filter was stuck you could stab it and then once the handle of the screwdriver goes through the filter you can then use it to turn and remove the filter. Well and good in theory, l saw one guy do this and he went and punctured his bike and the job to repair it was difficult. He was one technical guy and he ended up having to take his bike to the shop. So l think l will leave the Revzilla method for pros. l am too scared to try that, Anyway let me know about the tool you used.

Thanks my friend, sorry for the super late response, I use a filter fliers style so its easy to remove, and when you tighten up the new oil filter just a hand tight is good enough, yes you can do the punching with screw driver but is a bit messy lol, anyways I have more videos about diy on an xsr900, hope it will help you and others not only to do your own maintenance but also to save some money in the long run, again thanks for your time watching my video and be safe always my friend

I bought it together with the oil and filter at my local yamaha store, when you buy, buy atleast 5pcs so you'll have a stock like I did, thanks for your comment and be safe always
