Thank you so much for the video! There is no shortcut around laying the groundwork. I'm glad you talk slow - I listen slow and grasp concepts even more slowly. People think if you are an artist you are born with a chip in your head with all the info on it. I can't tell you how many times people had a way of making me feel ridiculous - they think taking courses is just a fun way to fill time. It made me seriously doubt my ability because when my work went badly, which was all the time, I figured I didn't have enough of what they refer to as "natural talent." People become accusatory on top of it - whining"I can't even draw stick figures" or "I don't have any talent" as if the fairy godmother of art has demolished all their dreams and destroyed their fantasies by deliberately overlooking them and bestowing that elusive "natural talent" on some ungrateful boho heathen. Well, maybe that's a little overly dramatic. It is very generous of you to share your experience with us. The demos and commentary are priceless. And it's a lovely painting of the oil jar. :)

I received your limited palette set as a gift, and I'm enjoying it so far. The consistency takes some getting used to (I typically use Windsor & Newton), but I find that colors are easier to mix because they're all the same thickness. Also, if you're using a glass palette, the paint takes a long time to dry, so you're not wasting any if you want to come back to a painting after a few days.

Your video help me out lot. I follow exactly this process for my painting. I have a question, i always use linceed oil to mix colours.But some of my seniors told me that us of linceed oil is a optional. what is your opinion? As i found linceed very helpful personally.

I am curious. I have the geneva paints (the ones in the jars) and on one of your videos you mentioned they were good for a year? Can you explain why, or what would happen after a year? Also I am in South Florida, and did a small painting with these oils but it took almost a month to completely dry. What can you suggest to speak up the drying time?

To see a background that Mark 'knocked out' in a portrait I suggest that you look at his portrait of George W. Bush which he painted for the Union League of Philadelphia. You can find it on Marks website or by using Google Images.

What brand of brushes do you use?

In my own field of Architecture, when developing a rendering -- especially for a public meeting or presentation -- we'd bracket the values of color-intensity and "furriness" of detail based on the viewing-distance; a "5-ft" rendering, a "10-ft" rendering or even a "25-ft" rendering for large public Board Meeting and neighborhood presentation. It's shocking how a mere suggestion of shape becomes "real" when viewed at a distance.

Geneva color doesnt egzist in mz counrz ,but life is going on. Im from artis who like to thiner color with windsor mediums i don use oils or turps , no need, its inaf windsor original fast dry , improve gloss alos use for glaying like for fine details, Rembrandt and Sennelier are our best colors, your painting are to much ....

I don't know what you are doing. You are not accurate, you are not accurate man, I can't exactly understand what you are, photographic painter, because you obviously don't have levels for that, extravagant artist I can't not see that coming to. You basically just paint, nothing unusual, nothing more impressive, no.
