The mix of clownface, the poorly tracked 3D red ball, and the fact that they didn't change the "Huckleberry P Jones, local pimp" part, makes this such a beautiful piece of meta art.

I hate cancel culture, but what was Richard supposed to do? He grew up and went to school in South Central Los Angeles. His friends were African Americans, so I'll defer to him to make more racially sensitive changes to his own work. Having said that, Cancel Culture is STUPID!

Okay, i love the original film and all but im atleast glad that richard decided to change it from blackface to clownface, my bet is that the reason why some of them aren't a fan of the blackface change is possibly due to the opening i bet, But eh, what do i know?

Where's the original? Why cut out the blackface and keep all the other stuff? The whole point of The Forbidden Zone is it's supposed in poor taste. It's supposed to be offensive and wrong. It could never be made today and that's the fun of it. Why try and change the past? Even Whoopi fucking Goldberg doesn't think you should change the past.

No one is defending blackface you silly goose. It's about preservation. Who doesn't know that blackface is profoundly offensive? To wipe it away is just an anti-history argument. As far as the colorized version of this movie goes, I don't see the clownface as a problem because it's just a different version. Colorized films are ostensibly alternate cuts, not defined.
