It was easy to love a smaller cast where they developed thier characters a lot better than the GOT tv show, where they have hundreds of characters and it's hard to argue those hundred of characters aren't important as one another but as a result we get less time with them. I mean Ed Stark was meant to be such heroic and loyal character. I don't think the show gave him those attributes very well.

For me, season 6 of GoT was big disappointment. Season 4 of Vikings is much, much better, despite the lower budget. We'll see how the show hundles the absence of Trevis Fimmel, but to me it seems like the actors of Bjorn and Ivar do a decent job so far. Ivar especially. The guy is fantastic.
@Leonardo-xz9xl7 жыл бұрын
The winds of winter finally was complete trash, Battle of the Bastards was interesting to watch because of all the effects and time that they put into it but the writting was predictable, cliche and boring; if i want to see a big fight scene i watch a movie, when i watch a show i want at least a decent script, something that GoT doesn't have right now. And the Hodor part... ok that one was pretty good, but one scene doesn't save the rest of the season.
@pauldevette7 жыл бұрын
Both shows had great episodes in the last season altough the last two episodes of Vikings were terrbile. The battle against the saxon army was ridicules and the structure made little sense. Got had a bad start in season 5 but the last 2 episodes were amazing.

And I love how Odin is portrayed in the scene. He's cloaked like a humble traveler rather than a Divine King of the Gods. It goes to show the respect they had for the original source material. In the stories Odin frequently traveled Midgard disguised as an old man in a cloak. Gathering information with his Ravens Huginn and Muninn, testing people's hospitality and most importantly bringing the tragic news to the sons of Ragner that a great man had died.
@hunkarun3 жыл бұрын
@@IronDragon-2143 Correct! It's not uncommon for the gods of the "old religion" to disguise themselves as a beggar, traveller, mendicant or even sometimes as certain animal forms when walking amongst man, here on earth. It's often the least suspected form of a sentient being as only the wise nobles that are spiritually enlightened can truly see the forms of Gods even when such disguised forms are taken by them. These are common faithful notions of the ancients which sadly are rarely known by the followers of today's "new age religions" who may even ridicule such notions.

As a grownup Runes are incorporated in my daily meditation, and use them as talisman for anything - safety, healing, divination, material accumulation, etc. A bag of Rune stones carved in amethyst was gifted to me on my 22nd birthday. Divine Feminine Blood is thicker than water, but apparently something old and strong is woven in your being. Forget bloodlines, remember that seidr, galdr and runic knowledge transcend 'norse' cultures. Our ancestors had an open mind because the seas were open to them. They hallowed their ancestors, but settled around the rims of the open sea and brought their culture and took what they could from others. Even the mightiest Volvas buried in the Oseberg ship were of 'eastern' descent, like Freyja Herself. Light and luck on your ways Divine Feminine and honor all your ancestors ;-)

Once when I was about six years olds I had a dream that my grandma died in her sleep and her spirit leave her body and become some sort of Valkyrie with green robe and golden helm,but back then I didn’t know what a Valkyrie is and thought she became a ghost.i wake up crying and when my grandma came in to my room to comfort me back to sleep I told her about my dream.she told me it was not a nightmare and actually there was nothing to worry about so I went back to sleep not understand how could she even interpreted it that way.but now as I grew up and learned about the Norse pantheon I think this dream is just Allfather’s way to told me that your loved one can’t always live with you forever and that how valuable my lifetime on this”Midgard” is.so yes thank you allfather for the lesson you have thought me on that day.

“It gladdens me to know that Odin prepares for a feast. Soon I shall be drinking ale from curved horns. This hero that comes into Valhalla does not lament his death! I shall not enter Odin’s hall with fear. There I shall wait for my sons to join me. And when they do, I will bask in their tales of triumph. The Aesir will welcome me! My death comes without apology!
