Oita Prefecture is famous in Japan for having the largest production of naturally flowing hot springs but it also has some of the most adorable small towns.
I spent the morning walking through the streets of Yufuin, where I discovered Yufuin Floral Village. The Floral Village feels like something straight out of a Studio Ghibli film! There are a number of unique shops, restaurants, and small animal parks around every corner. My favorite part about the floral village is the amount of Studio Ghibli merchandise that is sold in many of the shops. I may or may not have spent too much money or fluffy ghibli merch.
After Yufuin, I made my way over to Hell... The Hells of Beppu that is. Who knew Hell could be such a beautiful and fun place. There are a total of 7 hells to explore, with each one offering a unique experience and vastly different kind of hot spring. My favorite hell was the cooking pot hell or Kamado no Jigoku because you could order an entire meal to cook in the hot spring. It's the perfect place for me because I love to eat!
