10 years ago internet was a fun place

This song has not left my playlist since I discovered it over 12 years ago. I remember when I was in high school tons of people wanted to rent out the schools treadmills to do this for the talent show. One set of kids did and it was pretty awesome. It’s crazy how quickly a video can go from being one of the most talked about things on the internet to forgotten by many. OK GO is one of the most creative and talented groups out there, and their dancing skills are god tier. This may not seem too crazy to a lot of the younger people who aren’t old enough to remember KZfaq back in the day, but this video was a huge deal and inspired so many of the creators and musicians we have today. They made a huge impact on internet culture with this one video.

This still amazes me after so many years. I haven't lost my fascination with their timing here. Awesome video.

This makes me miss that vintage internet. Maybe not vintage. But that looser, simpler time.

I distinctly remember the first time I saw this. I was 8 or 9 and we were visiting some close family friends. Their daughter, who must have been in her mid teens at the time, was tasked with keeping me entertained. She took me up to her room, full of posters and CDs and things that made her a “cool teen” in my eyes, and showed me this video. Really made me feel special to be enjoying something that a cool teen also enjoyed :’)
