I think the quickest way I can think of would be to marry father winter then use the 500k to buy as many violins as possible and then sell them at 300% but that also seems kinda cheaty lol

Clement always shows up in Evergreen Harbor in my games. He's often voting on the NAPs and then hogging the dumpsters. This is where he's sourcing all the Winterfest gifts. He knows about people throwing-out broken expensive stuff, and he fixes it up and puts it on your gift pile(s). He didn't come by that 10 in mechanical skill by making the toys.

I tried to do it by dumpster diving, the very first item i had my sim fix electrocuted her to death, she died early enough the grim reaper came in with the welcome wagon and then they all got traumatized

I believe Vlad is worth something like 400k. So if you do multiple sims, have one marry Father Winter and the other marry Vlad then have them all do flowers you’d only have to make 100k and could do it in just a day or two without even having to sell from the table.

Look, this was fun, but if there are no rules about adding people to the family… why not add the max and let them all craft flower bouquets?! 😅

Scenting just adds mood buffs/life/death to the aRRANGEments. Scenting with death flower knocks off a life stage, orchid adds a day or two to life, bluebell keeps the arrangement from going off, daisy makes you happy (I think), begonia means caution/kind of rude gift, rose is romantic. There is one for fidelity which makes the giver and receiver unable to cheat while active buff, one that makes you inspired. Really kind of a fun feature. Congrats on the much faster §1,000,000!

Clement Frost has all the skills related to Winterfest: Handiness (because he makes toys for kids), Cooking and Baking (because holiday cookies), Charisma and Parenting (because kids love him), and Singing (because holiday carols!)

When I do this challenge I normally set up an 8 sim lot with tons of dumpsters, I have someone who keeps getting water from the fridge, everyone else dumpster dives, once the dumpsters are empty you put the glass of water in and it's magically full of £15,000 artworks again!

Someone suggested doing a painter's club, where you just have your club paint for you and then sell the work. I did it in just over two sim weeks, and that was including other gameplay. So with full focus, it could probably be done faster

Speaking of the lottery...I am currently playing James' every lot trait challenge with all the traits like simple living and such, the lottery came up in my game, I had my character buy a ticket and Bess Stirling won the lottery, and my first thought was "if she calls me for money again...."

Scenting doesn't add to the value, but scenting with a bluebell makes it so the arraignment never goes bad, so it gives you lots of time to sell it without losing value.

My tip for starting a Rags to Riches is to collect things at the park in Oasis Springs. They spawn at 4AM so that's the time to be there. There's almost $700 of stuff in there to collect every day once the plants spawn! It's infinitely faster than fishing. And if you're going to fish, use that excellent spot in the back of the Oasis Springs park. You catch violins and cowplant berries and all kinds of stuff. Other OS neighborhoods good for collecting too.

Now if you can use multiple sims, then I'm wondering: would it be faster with 8 adults sims, or slower because of the chaos? I think you should try :)

If you appease the gnomes and add them to your inventory, they’ll continuously give you seed packets. That’s a good way to make money

Imagine how much faster it would be if you had an established flower garden-with it going from §844 to §0 by using orchids from your garden. Sebastian knew what was what!

When I did this, I had a vampire Sim and he didn't need to sleep so I had him up all night. I used Plopsy to sell all of my paintings and arrangements (I scented mine with bluebells so they wouldn't expire).

Its the nerd brain aspiration that gives the instant upgrade option. Which you need level 10 handiness to complete!

I wish fairies were in 4. Imagine using them to help with planting and finding collectibles like in 3. Would be super helpful in this. I miss them so much 😭

Start off with two Sims. Create custom events where Father Christmas appears, and then schedule them to be two days in a row. Have your Sims marry one Father Christmas each and you should be able to finish the challenge within 48h…

"What are the chances of him just showing up, by the way?" Because he knew James was doing a rags to riches challenge... Duh! Lol. You didn't cheat, there's literally no rules accept to have $1mil. You're good 😊 And no worries about spending money on your lot. If you sell it at the end, then you get the value of your lot in your bank account and then it counts for the scenario.

Another idea: get to $1m using _only_ kleptomaniac and selling the stuff you steal. Sorry for leaving so many comments, though perhaps it's good for the algorithm? If that's the case I don't mind. You're doing a lot for the community and I always enjoy your videos. Especially lots of respect for the decision to boycott the marriage dlc and bring attention to the issues preventing many simmers from using it. That can't have been easy, and I'm really impressed at how you handled it and how you're using your influence to give back to the community. Lots of love~.

I like using arches and curtain in tiny houses, instead of doors, lol. I've lived in small spaces and curtains make excellent dividers and don't need the same clearance space doors do.

I think Father Winter showed up because of the community board across the street from your lot. I've seen him there before too when I played on that lot even weeks away from Winterfest. NPCs just seem to congregate there. I really enjoyed the video today and it made me laugh so thank you!

Yes, holy cow! I did a R2R using only flower arraigning and the yard sale table. I didn't even raise the pricing to full, and was making 6-7K for each arraignment.

Pro tip: Clearing game notifications fixes the lag! I believe opening the pause menu fixes it as well :)

One thing I noticed - you brought "marketable" treat only for Daddy Winter so when he was tending the table the prices would be higher. But congrats on finding quick way to complete this scenario!

I managed to do it in 14 days by going the copy pasto/money tree route, though I also did a bunch of dumpster diving/repairio too. You should make this a series and try all the crazy way sims have of making money to see which takes the fastest/longest. And yes the pack is horrendously awful, but hilarious to watch others trying to play it. I watched Dr. Gluon's married at first sight sims style. All I can say is that if they don't fix it quick, I'll delete the wedding lots and just continue to elope immediately. I'll probably do that anyway. 😂

I completed my challenge with no cheats, magic (don’t have this EP) or marrying a rich guy in 25 sim days: micro home, gardening (mainly expensive flowers), taking care of aspirations and buying 3 money trees for the satiscation points and being a leader of painters' club on my lot xD. In a few days all the members became painting experts, so with these paintings, my garden and freelancing (as an artist) I was saving around 50--70k per day at the end of challenge. Meanwhile I also completed Fabulously Wealthy aspiration so got big direct deposit twice during the challenge. Never been prouder of myself while playing TS4, bc I usually make boring families having boring perfect lives :D

Side note, I hate the Harris family! Every time my Sims live in Evergreen Harbor, they always use my house like a public lot 😓 lol good to know that flower arranging is OP though.

For the frame-rate issue, try pressing esc (open the game menu) when you enter or exit buy mode. That fixes it for me

For the lag when switching playmode to buildmode and back, just do an esc and go back. It's something with the UI overlay that makes the game lag :P

An idea I literally just had as either a challenge in general or part of this scenario: you are not allowed to stay on your home lot (maybe any lot?) for longer than an hour in game time. You can change the time, but the idea is the same - you have to be constantly moving, satisfying your needs, and earning money while not being able to stay anywhere long term. It'd take a while to get to a million, but I'd be really interested to see how you go about it!

James for the lag going in and out of build mode try just hitting esc twice (or opening and closing the save menu thing) that works pretty well for me!

Probably not the most exciting for content but I did it in 3 days by just convincing the games richest families to move in with me. Got to be careful to make sure they join you and you don't join them though or the scenario ends. Had Vlad and the Landgrabs all living with me in that needs TLC apartment.

The build mode lag can be fixed by pressing escape 2 times and if that does not work go into settings and then leave you do not need to change anything

I wonder if there are any other Sims in the world who have that kind of money. Just go around making best buddies, add them all to your household and boom! _You_ are technically still penniless since it's your _friends_ that are the rich ones, but so long as they're in your household, it counts! Of course you can always claim that money for yourself. Just kick them out of the household without returning their funds. But why would anyone ever betray a friend over money? Ridiculous, amirite? Would never happen in real life. Ever. Eheheh...

Congrats on 13 years! Maybe you could try making 1,000,000 off archeological finds? You could even use all portable furniture for the most part, just have a tiny spot for your potty bush. And the rest of the yard (or some of it) just an awning that you can pull out the portable furniture and put it away again (tent, cooler, microwave, minifridge, pocket table, folding chairs, laptop, easel, soccer ball. But, you don't want a bike for in the jungle. Cheapest, smallest lot is in Strangerville, but the best for collectables is either in Newcrest (next to the pond) or in Oasis Springs (the park has great collectables). Not sure if there is a better place for collectables.

An idea for the my wedding stories rags to riches: you can only make money by cake and marrying sims but can't break up and can only kill them usina your sim (ex: from too much woohoo, old age, laughing too much, being too embarassed, natural disasters...etc)
