I don't know any of these New Japan guys, I've been seeing all this hype around Okada and the word "Rainmaker" so I decided to check it out. So Rainmaker is a clothesline finisher? It didn't look that affective when he hit it on Wheeler.

🤐 promise I'm not a NJPW weeb, but it hits different when he hits the spinning tombstone pile-driver, does the Rainmaker pose with the crowd popping and the camera zoom out, then finally pulling them in and turning them inside out followed by the splat and 3 count. Plus Japanese JR screaming RAINMAKAH RAINMAKAAAAAAAAAAAAH 🤣🤣 So if you don't get why his move is over because hes only had a coffee in aew I get it, just most people remembering other matches than this segment

He's a legend in Japan. American and Japanese audiences disagree on what makes a great wrestler. In Japan its more about the in ring ability whereas in America its more about the gimmick. There's a bit more to it than that but that's the basic principles. Neither are wrong or right its a subjective matter. Although in general he is considered to be one of the best wrestlers ever by people who watch different kinds of wrestling. He had a two out of 3 falls match with Kenny omega which is regarded by many to be the best ever wrestling match. Aew fans tend to know more about general wrestling that wwe fans and they tend to be more into wrestling in general. So most of the crowd had heard of him which is why the crowd reaction is so good. Although I must admit I hadn't heard of him until a couple of years ago
