I’m sure there were abuses, but they happen any time “evil” is allowed to exist…we still, are fighting this. I must believe in the creator, God, and HIS plans. And I'm sorry if folk are still carrying that battle on their consciousness but I am NOT responsible. The ONLY people who want that apology are those folks who see themselves as 'justified, angry victims'. And the Democratic party invests in those people. They go to great lengths to keep 'racism' alive. My people weren't even IN this country during Slavery. When White people try to adopt Black Culture, to emulate, accept and assimilate we are called 'Poser' ... They do not want to assimilate into our culture. American Culture. The angry folks want to continue to carry this angst bc they believe it benefits them. And they know it gets under the scar tissue. Apologizing will only lead to folks wanting more. A 'country-wide' apology will only lead to the angry left wanting more. Squeezing the Buffalo.

The issuing of this order and the arrival of Federal troops in Galveston effectively ended the Civil War and emancipated those confined to a life of slavery. - Now in and around it have been lots of other things added to it but this was the last documented completion of the Emancipation Proclamation declared by Lincoln in 1863 (about 2 and half years prior)

DEI is enforced racism and when you combine it with 'equality of outcome' then it will damage or destroy any business that has to apply it. It is a moral disease and the enforced spread of it, accentuates any pre existing division and creates division where there isn't any. This is the way it is meant to work and it is absolutely lethal. The values it seeks to champion are those that are already considered normal in the US and have been guaranteed under US Law for decades, after a much longer period of hard work and striving to do better, carried out by our predecessors.

Thank you guys for this reaction. I am a grown white woman. I have always tried to lived by the principle that I can’t expect other people to respect me if I don’t respect them. Which by principle is what you both highlight, treating everyone as human beings first and foremost. I am not from the US. In my country there was a TV commercial quite a few years ago bringing into light a social dilemma. It depicted two neighboring families, one of them new to the neighborhood. The family established in the neighborhood was black and the new family was white. The “old”family invited the “new” family over for coffee, and they were asked how they liked their coffee. The “new” husband said: “I’ll have mine black….. uuummmm dark….. ummmm without something in it….”. He was sooooo afraid of offending his new neighbors. Of course this is somewhat exaggerated, but if it didn’t have some root in reality, no one would have thought of it. It is so sad that society has become a place where it’s so trendy to get offended that we are actually afraid of using normal language because we are afraid to offend someone. I read or heard someone say that as a grownup you will see and hear things you don’t like every day. And you have to deal with it. It can be someone wearing things you would never have in your closet, or upsetting things on the news. It’s part of being a grownup. I think that was rather spot on. We should have the skill set to handle things like that when we are a few years into adulthood 😊
