Just got back from OKC with my wife. We spent a day and a half there. I have to say, OKC is one of the CLEANEST downtown areas I’ve ever seen across the US. Didn’t see any trash or graffiti hardly anywhere. We visited with the intent to see if we wanted to move there and we are 100% sold. Moving within the next year. There was a lot going on yet it didn’t feel crowded at all. Fun, energetic, vibrant, and neat city. Absolutely loved it.

The developments the city has enjoyed over the past 10 year are very impressive. It's, in fact, a city to be proud of and highly recommended to consider moving to.

To sum up, positive advantages: -low prices of living, one of the cheapest cities to live in the usa -nice people, lots of job offers -cleanliness and safety, relatively no drug addicts and homeless people, -lots of new investments. the city is constantly evolving over the last 10 years it looks better and better cons: city that promotes it does not talk about -constant weather breakdowns, the city even has several tornadoes a year that destroy people's homes, which affects the standard of living and property prices - the city lives its own life and has its own events, but compared to the largest US cities, olahoma is dead and the density of people it is low -poor location, it is located in the middle of the USA where it is far from both coasts and other tourist cities, so you almost always have to go on vacation by plane
@kale_xo10 ай бұрын
To your cons: 1. In my 32 years I’ve seen only one tornado in real life and it was in the middle of a field. Not to say I haven’t gone to the cellar many many times due to the threat of a tornado, but I’ve never personally been affected by one. Lots of people here have though, but that’s why they have insurance plans, storm shelters and when the sky gets dark on a spring evening, we keep our eyes glued to the weather radar. When one does affect our friends, families or neighbors, Oklahomans help one another rebuild better than it was before. The weather here does not affect our standard of living, it is a part of who we are. There is wild weather in any state you live in, it’s all about being prepared and weather aware. 2. Oklahoma’s population density is ranked 20th in the US. I wouldn’t say low, but the area that that covers is one of the biggest in the country. So to put it simply, we have a “medium” number of people contained in one of the largest land areas. You’ll never meet an Okie who wants to go to the city and be cheek-to-cheek with people. We like our quiet little part of the country just fine the way it is. Not too few people, not too many (yet). 3. While it is in the middle of the country, there is PLENTY of wonderful places to visit not only right here in the state, but in our neighbor states. The Gulf of Mexico is a 8-9 hour road trip. Who needs to see the ocean anyway when we have over 55,000 miles of shoreline right here in our state. That’s more than the Gulf AND the Atlantic coasts combined! Either way, I can get a round trip ticket to Los Angeles right now for $150. That’s the cost of a little over a tank of gas these days anyway. Speaking of gas prices, Oklahoma is one of the cheapest in the US for that as well. I think your list of cons aren’t cons at all, more like opinions.. which you are totally entitled to. Living in Oklahoma, my list of cons would be way different. I would be complaining about things like our state government and education. Both could definitely use some improvement. We do have homeless people too, but what city doesn’t?
