Amen! Biggest mistake of the past 10 years was Bob bringing Mike back and pushing Venables out. Can you imagine having kept Venables, getting rid of Heupel (the real problem) and having Lincoln + Stout D??? Geez

@Rob-hv5zq2 жыл бұрын
Except venables didn't get pushed out, he just didn't want to be co-defensive coordinator with Mike. Both were great defensive coordinators, they just got too much flack for games when their players weren't performing like they should. And Josh Huple was never the problem. He's now the coach of Tennessee and kicking butt. People always want to blame coaches when the truth is it's the players responsibility to execute.

Watching the highlights of this game now made me realize something. This FSU team was a very, very young team playing against a seasoned OU squad that year. I know this because a good portion of the names I’m seeing on the field are the same guys that played on the 2013 National Championship squad. This was for pretty much all of them, their Freshman and Sophomore years and despite the loss, they played well for a team so young. You can see why they had a lot of success a couple years from this game.

Fsu fan here was @ the game and espn GAMEDAY and ur guys fans were super classy and ur team also I loved after the helmet to helmet hit ur d was kneeling in the endzone for our fallen receiver. This was an insanely loud and hostile environment and I commend y'all for overcoming it. Game was mad close but y'all really did it final 7 mins. Hopefully we get healthy for Clemson and resolve our penalty issue. Congrats, but GO NOLES !!

I don't think that any OU fan would say that they are "GODS", but I personally get tired of the fans who praise the SEC as if it shit doesn't stink. The over rated SEC is the reason why OU dropped in the polls when they hadn't even lost and why OSU was snuffed out of a title shot.

@09msa Florida State is a great football program. It's the best in Florida in my opinion. And now that Jimbo Fisher is the head coach, they have slowly improved year after year. It wouldn't surprise me one but if FSU made it to a BCS bowl in 2012. Just because they don't have 50 years of tradition, doesn't mean they haven't been building toward it.

Great game! The OU defense was on FIRE!!!! But where was Finch? I was surprised we didn't run it more. With multiple running backs and a strong O-line, we should have been able to punish them on repeated run plays.
@tofumar12 жыл бұрын
@rdmnole My mistake: we only outgained you guys 116-6 after the Tricket TD. Which came on a 3rd and 28, which we had FSU in because we were so terrible at playing D. So, I'll admit my mistake: we only outgained the Noles 116-6 from 9:32 on. That is, in the most crucial part of the game. So yeah, we really suck and stuff.

I’ve been an OU fan my whole life but was a kid during this era of OU so I didn’t pay much attention. Going back and watching and these games I’m wondering why in the hell people ever wanted to get rid of venables? Like seriously why would you want that man fired. I hope the trade off of giving up 50+ every week was worth it
@ChristophC99912 жыл бұрын
"The play @ 2:21 is not a TD because the ball was not in the WR's control when the ball crossed the goal line. The ball has to cross the line not the player. If the WR had turned around and put the ball over the goal line first then it would've been ruled a TD. The sideline judge that signaled TD was on the far sideline, the judge closes to the play called it an incomplete pass. The judge closes to the play should always be awarded the call. Good call on the officials."
@KiLLaPaTTie12 жыл бұрын
on FSU's first drive on the game they showed FSU's impact players and they were RB Ty Jones, QB EJ Manuel, OL Andrew Datko and WR Rodney Smith haha so much for impact players as Ty Jones had 5 carries for -9 yards, EJ Manuel threw 2 interceptions, Andrew Datko gave up 2 sacks, and Rodney Smith caught 1 pass! hahaha lmfao
@bshaw727312 жыл бұрын
Tom Wort is playing like a man possessed. He is playing in honor of his brother, Austin Box, and you can see it in this game and the Tulsa game. I think the Sooners are wanting #8 in honor of Austin and I don''t think anyone can stop them if they play like this. Tom Wort, you are on heck of a player.

@09msa Bama does have more national titles than OU, but Bama has always been a good football program. In fact, OU and Bama have so much in common, that they practically mirror images of each other. Both have great coaches, a long history of winning, and high prestige. But I will say, the last time OU and Bama played each other, the Sooners beat them. Much respect though

@EddieCCanegetitin I wouldn't say that. FSU came back but OU answered. It's hard to win when your starting QB gets hurt. Example: 2009 OU
@OUfootballAuthority12 жыл бұрын
Hey man, nearly all OU fans have alot of respect for Bama. Our programs are so similar, it's not even funny. But least you forget, the last time Bama played OU, Stoops beat them at Owen Field and in Tuscaloosa. And until the two teams meat agian, you can't really say Bama shits on OU. But I will say, thanks for beating Texas's ass in the national title game, that was F'n beautiful.

@rdmnole I wonder which team had more personal foul penalties? And OU outgained your Noles 116-6 in the 4th quarter, and had 6 sacks in the game. I'd say that counts as pretty good D.

@encycl07pedia12 жыл бұрын
@heavyhorse84 Yeah. He sucked in the 2010 OU game, and in the 2011 game he did get a knee injury. I was really surprised with the go-ahead TD he let by him, because he barely even jumped if you watch it. If you watch some of his highlights, a 5'8" DB laid out Marcus Lattimore and took him out of the game, and i think he won the MVP for that game. He also destroyed some poor MD receiver last year. He didn't perform against OU, tbough, no argument there. I would never say he's Deion.

@KhidFresh Wow. I'm glad the Sooner fans I met at the game were a lot classier than you. FSU competed with OU the entire game. Or are you saying Oklahoma is not one of the "big boys?" FSU was close with Clemson, too, but the defense gave up too many big plays, and you have to admit we were banged up. I still think FSU needs to find an O-line because we can't run the ball. If we had one, we would definitely be a Top 20 team, maybe top 10.

@revolution09pac Dude, the OU vs FSU game was a hard fought game with both sides losing players to injuries. There was no shame in how tough Florida St. was in that game. There is stil plenty of games to be played. You need to have more faith in your team. Have you already forgot that Jimbo Fisher took FSU to a 10 win season, went to the ACC championship, and won the Chick-Fil-A Bowl? Besides, FSU has Wake Forest and Duke next, PLenty of time to get some players healed up and get some W's

Red zone offense still sucks. When you have first and goal inside the 10 and then inside the 5 and you settle for field goals on both drives it's inexcusable, especially with the weapons OU has. Same thing in Bedlam and the Big XII title game last year, they get inside the 20 and the offense just kind of stalls.
