Oklahoma Sooners softball coach Patty Gasso, pitcher Nicole May, DP Ella Parker and outfielder Jayda Coleman meet the press after OU's 4-2 win over Florida State at the Norman Super Regional on Friday, May 24, 2024, and qualify for the Women's College World Series.

Nicole May, always the quiet professional and my favorite pitcher of all time. I wish every OU pitcher had her capability of consistency in hitting spots and staying competitive in and around the stike zone. I call May the Closer and the Cavalry for a reason. Always ready to come in and save the day.

I'm getting sad thinking about next year. It's gonna be a weird time with all of our seniors gone and there won't be another jayda!

I know!…I’m really going to miss them all…I wonder if we’re ever going to have another Boone!…so clutch and on point with her bunts at any moment….sometimes it feels like she never strikes out….always fighting

Jayda is just at another level defensively from most players. I've said this the past several years. I love watching this team play defense! When you get to the College World Series and you give the best teams extra outs with errors or you take away an at bat with great defense it's the difference in winning and losing. So fun to watch!

These seniors are so awesome. I have been a fan of May from the first time I seen her pitch. I knew she would just get better in this program. Jayda, Kenzie, Boone, May, Jennings, Brito, and adding Maxwell and Torres. I am a fan of OU not just for the softball wins but what they stand for. Their faith and love for one another. We can all learn from these young ladies. Thank you for what you do. Keep it going. ❤❤. Boomer

The Sooners defense is second to none, and Jayda Coleman is to centerfield what the Mona Lisa is to a portrait. Over the years, Jayda and Riley Boone just never dropa fly ball.

Pure Gold. Patti's greatest asset is she never forgets where she came from and grateful of all that participated in their journey year in and year out! So gracious to FSU and staff/players. Continued success...what a joy to watch!

I hope the outgoing seniors don’t waste their next few years playing “pro” softball. I’d like to see them go into their chosen profession and become productive citizens.
