John from www.okraw.com/ shares with you his top 8 tips for picking the best ripe young green coconut every single time. In this episode, he will share the 8 common traits that a ripe young coconut may have, so you can pick the best one every time you buy or harvest a young coconut.
John attends the 2016 Costa Rica Fruit Festival and shares with you the unlimited young green coconuts that were available every day to drink. You will discover his 8 special techniques that he uses in combination to choose the sweetest, sparkling green coconut almost every single time.
In this episode you will learn some of the differences between the different stages of green coconut development and how to select the one at the right ripeness for you. You will learn the traits of a younger, green coconut that has non-sweet water as well as the characteristics of a more mature young coconut that may have champagne coconut water when you open it that tastes like creme soda.
After watching this episode, you will learn 8 tips you need to choose the best young green coconut every single time.

Thank you for the info. Great Vid. How about the ones with pink meat? I have recently opened a couple with pinkish color inside. The meat is fine and juice but wondering about it. I recall the meat was even tender. Thank you!

Great video! I love fresh coconuts so much. They're so easy to open. How many different varieties of coconuts are there? I've been to South East Asia and everywhere I went there were only the green ones. Whereas in South America there are both the green ones and yellow/orange. I prefer the South American ones, they are much sweeter!

First let me just say that I find all of your videos entertaining do to the amount of explanation you put into them. Thank you! I have one question. Is there any way to tell how to pick them if they are at the store in the husk or down to the white right next to the husk?

Watching you do this and having one in my kitchen, with no real good place to hack at it, except maybe the garage, I think I have another easier solution: drill. Drill with a bigger bore drill bit.

Omg. These guys make enough to actually give some away for free?? Here in india, we grow good coconuts yet we are always at loss because coz we have to sell them at 7-10 cents each if they are good sized. Then they transport them to cities and sell at 35cents each. With huge labour charges for plucking coconuts we always end up at loss or at marginal profits if everything goes well without any cyclones or unseasonal rains.
