Is there is a "christianphobia" considering the history of the crusades and the use of conversion/civilising missions by colonial powers to justify colonialism, which arguably, was THE most violent event is human history? No. No there isn't. Islam is coloured in a certain way, a way that no other religion is. The original commenter is right. And no, fearing an entire religion and its followers will never ever be "rational" or "justified"

As a hindu, I wholeheartedly agree. Shit ass people exist in all religions; but nowadays even regular so called hindus are just going overboard. I really doubt these self proclaimed, bhagwa wearing hindus have ever read the Vedas and Upanishads. Cuz for them, only shouting Jai shree ram and abusing other religions is what makes you a certified hindu and perfect patriot. This is just so messed up. I won't be surprised if one day India turns into a hindu version of Afghanistan.

Nihar is made to be eaten in the morning nihar muhh( bassi muhh) & another fact it is made for labours & workers as unka hardcore work hota tha & they were not able to cope up to work light breakfasts so unke jo raja the unhone apne khansama ko bola ki kuch aisa bnao ki enko khoob josh mile kaam ke liye & khansama sahab raat ko chadha ke ye bhul gye the n it was made accidentally & that turned out so tasty & wonderful ki ye specifically dish ban gyi thi named as Nihari

I live in Kolkata. There is a place called Zakaria Street which is similar to Jama Masjid when during Eid people all over Kolkata come and eat food. Similarly during Christmas, there is a place called Park Street where people flock like herds just to see how beautiful the place is lit with lights and all and eat food. And of course evryone knows about Durga Puja. Its really good to see people enjoy every festival through food because food is what brings us closer which I believe strongly

I have visited purani Dilli with food walk team and it's in morning and I think you should surely try it. They will take you to oldest places and tell you history also. I am History honours students and so had to study food history It's all over amazing experience

We make Nihari & you are right it takes nearly 12 hours to cook if you making it on a Degg ( A copper degchi) but if you use pressure cooker to first cook the paya and nalli bones then use it into making nihari the the is half. We eat it in winters in the morning

That Aslam butter chicken is very popular, I went there (being veg...with my Chicken lover friends during my college days). I know how I handle the temptation of NOT EATING NON VEG that day! That butter chicken was looking way toooo delicious + those rumali roti ahahahahaha

No need to eat non veg being a vegetarian, also tell your friends not to force you if they do. There are plenty of veg options available in jama masjid too try that out , i've had the aloo paratha there which was superb.

Parathe wali Gali is also quite popular of this area.. but one interesting thing which happened was, (rather it was more generous).... one of the waiter understood that I'm a vegetarian in the group...Since All I was doing, was watching KZfaq while the rest 4 were just raiding the food...he offered me Badam halwa & I asked if it is free or going to be charged later? He replied It's complimentary. And that halwa full of butter was very delicious ( And that's the only thing I taste there)
