It's shocking to me Ola guessed these. Most of them sounded almost identical to the rectifier head to me. He really knows his tones

The surprise pedal was awesome. It's subtle low end boost and the more vintage-like mid-highs are extremely pleasing to hear.

The Savage Drive sounds pretty badass with the Roadster, a sort of Metal Muff / MT2 -esque tone with a beefier lower midrange. The manner how the chords ring is downright ruthless, at least compared to your demo of that pedal 3 years ago. Lovely. This video series is fun, please continue.

great comparison! you should have included the Mudkiller by Electric Eye Audio too (if you still have it), I think it's one of the best boosts we have nowadays;

I almost sold mine but I’m glad I didn’t. It really adds some aggressive mids and treble and tightens up the bottom end

You forgot the best overdrive though, the Seymour Duncan 805 hands down the most brutal pedal I’ve ever found and messed with.

Great video! Always fun to see if people can pick out differences in gear with their ears only. Might've been cooler if he didn't know exactly what pedals were on the board before going blindfolded

Also, not sure if I'm biased as the owner of one but the Precision Drive takes the cake. A TS9 with some juice, and a bit of eq shaping like the Grind. Perfect.

@Wrong One from what I’ve read on forums the tubescreamer works better with single coil pickups and the sd1 works better with humbuckers but either way they both sound great

Great series. Since you have a pretty much unlimited supply of solar guitars you should pick one basic type and install different pickups in them. Lol

I have a savage drive. Its the last one before they started making the 6 knob version. I have never been able to make it sound anything like yours or any other good overdrive for that matter. I have a fuzzlord doom screamer and its just lovely. I wonder if my savage drive is a defective unit.

I love the chug tones you achieve! Question...... I have a Mesa mini rectifier. What settings, if you will, would you set the amp at for face melting tones? I have a few overdrives also to boost it. 😉 Thank You!

What no 5150 overdrive lol, I always have trouble picking just 1 drive pedal. My line up on my pedalboard is a Ibanez Nu-tube screamer, MXR Zakk wylde overdrive, Boss HM2, Boss SD1 and the 5150 overdrive, all through the Revv G8 (4 cable method) in the loop of a Earthquaker Swissthings pedal that has it's own adjustable 20db clean boost. It's like an addiction, can never have too many drive pedals lol.

Ola, what are your thoughts on the Boss Blues Driver overdrive. I love the tone that comes out of that pedal and i actually use it to boost my bassguitar. Makes it sound more melodic. Perfect for my band since we only got 1 guitar player. So i was looking for a more melodic bass tone
