My great grandfather is honoured on the saltcoats memorial. 24685 :PRIVATE THOMAS GRIER: ROYAL SCOTS FUSILIERS. he is buried in Chapelle military cemetery , Lacoutre France .

A great pity that no dates are given for the film clips. Thanks anyway for a wonderful look at Ayrshire, where I was born and lived in the 40s and 50s.

Back in the 90s, Saltcoats flooded again, some people blamed it on global warming. The flooding here from the 1920s was long before the first interstate highway or motorway or jet travel….
