Title reads: "At Brecon Cathedral. Old Colours of 1st Battn. S. Wales Borderers laid up."
Marching Band passes camera followed by men in army uniform (First Battalion South Wales Borderers?) Sergeant Major gives orders (Halt, Right Turn etc.) and the men step in place accordingly. Local dignitaries and former members of the Battalion march into the grounds of the Cathedral in mufti. Many wear medals. The soldiers stand to attention whilst the men file past. Exterior of cathedral - soldiers salute their predecessors who stand opposite them. Camera pans across men in uniform. Flags are presented. Men present arms. God Save Our King is played. Flag bearers march through the archway to the cathedral. Other people present move through the archway. Band marches through the archway. Soldiers march through archway.
High angle shot of large group of people - ordinary members of the public and children being directed by a policeman. Seems that they are gathered to watch the spectacle. Some climb on the the wall outside the cathedral. Lots of people look at the camera. Shot of a crowd of people, boy in the middle does a "thumbs up" to the camera. Tall policeman in the middle of the crowd. High angle moving shot of the band parading through the streets. Crowds of people walk alongside. Closer shot of the marching band seen from a moving vehicle in front. L/S of soldiers and band in a large square. Drill is performed. God Save Our King is played again whilst soldiers stand to attention. Panning shot of the soldiers and the band. Former members of the platoon stand behind the soldiers. Orders are given and the band and soldiers begin to march out of the square.
Note: the title is not in the style of any particular Pathe newsreel or cinemagazine so this was probably a special film Pathe was commissioned to produce.
