You should give JoJo a watch it's like nonstop music references assuming you watch the Japanese version with English subtitles (the correct version) which has the original copyrighted names of the powers. English dub version is altered killer queen=deadly queen, king crimson=Emperor crimson Metallica= metallic.

There is another layer about the music in the show, the villains heroes and their power they fight with have names of bands, which, of course, had to be cencored in the dubs because of copyright stuff, which seems not that kind of big deal in japan

JoJo in particular is imo a love letter to fashion, action, and music and then amps it to an 11. A lot of the "spirits" or Stands as they call it are named after bands and songs. The range of music is everywhere. And they make it a point to flex the different genres. The love for music is there and they make it a point to make sure every second of the music has something to add. Great cover btw, and I'm hoping you are enjoying your journey into the anime/game verse of song!
@HarrisBoe

What you said about people who enjoy anime and video games being exposed to a wider variety of music is so incredibly true. I find so much modern music to sound exactly the same. But as amazing as this music is on its own, I almost feel like part of what makes it *truly* special is experiencing it as a part of the full package. Watching the song play during an emotional or empowering moment that you’ll always be reminded of whenever you re-listen to it. Of course, you’ll often be too distracted by what’s going on on-screen to fully appreciate the song at the time. That’s why I like to experience this kind of music both with and without the context. First experience as part of the show or game so I have can establish that emotional connection to a specific moment or feeling, then on its own to appreciate the entirety of the composition on its own merits, all while still being able to draw on those memories of my first experience.

There are a number of anime shows out there with fantastic music scoring. JoJo's is known for it, as the creator of the series uses the soundtrack he listens to while working to influence his work. Several characters are named after songs/artists/albums. From the first series alone, you meet Baron Zeppeli, Robert E.O. Speedwagon, and Dio, and the list just goes and goes from there.

I love the talk you had at the end of the video, I completely agree with you! When I was younger, video game (and then later anime) music were very near and dear to me, then as I got older I started playing an instrument so I got further immersed in music as a whole. Since then it feels like both mediums have just expanded on each other for me since one helps me appreciate the other even more

Jojo's Bizarre Adventure started as a manga (comic) that started originally in 1987, and is still being written/published to this day. It is divided into multiple "parts" with each part covering a different character, time period and geographical region: the original Jojo takes place in the 1890s in England, the second part takes place in the 1930s in Italy, the third in the 1980s in the Middle East, etc. The author just started up Part 9, to give some context for how long this thing has been going on. And, unsurprisingly, each part is also musically distinct. This song comes from Part 5, which takes place in the early 2000s, so it takes a lot of hints from hip-hop and other musical genres popular at the time. Of course, it also has that certain flair that you can find in a lot of Jojo music, which you may understand more as you hear more of the songs from it.

I recently found out that not only show refers to popular music but also its soundtrack does. I myself recognized intro from "Owner of a lonely heart" by Yes in Taku Iwasaki's "Welcome to the world" and there's also "Jaws" main motive in Yugo Kanno's "Shark". There definitely is much more to discover, so I would like if you listen to at least the most popular and recognizable OST of this.

AYE LETS GOO. Jojo's Bizarre Adventure has been an Anime for a long time. Since the 90's I think. This song is from Part 5 Golden Wind which was from a couple years back. Late 2010's. Loads of good songs. If you do a deep dive with this, every all the opening songs are good. Very diverse too. Anime Ops are going to be most of your requests for Anime fyi. Not that there isn't good OST, but there are hundreds of great Ops and Eds and there are more known and talked about then OSTs. More Mainstrem, I guess.

JJBA is in a nutshell a generational piece about a bloodline of heroes battling evil across the eras, except it simultaneously both takes itself seriously and is extremely wacky and dialed up to 11 all over. Each season, or "part", is almost like a completely different show: Part 1 "Phantom Blood" - Family Drama and Vampires in England Part 2 "Battle Tendency" - Nazis vs Vampires in Europe Part 3 "Stardust Crusaders" - Road Trip to Egypt Part 4 "Diamond is Unbreakable" - Small Town Murder Mystery in Japan Part 5 "Golden Wind" - Italian Gangsters Part 6 "Stone Ocean" - Prison Drama in America

Having played a good amount of video games and watched a lot of anime, the amount of different types of music I’ve listened to now is incredible. I feel that experiencing stuff like that and actively seeking out different types of music makes me more well-rounded and appreciative of music as a whole, even when I can’t understand the lyrics (in Japanese songs). It also helps me so that I can jam out to whatever I need to during certain times, such as OSTs and lo-fi while doing homework. Also, funny you bring up Santana because one of the villains of Part 2 is named after Santana. The JoJo’s mangaka, Araki, loves Western music and that’s why so many names have references. Also, all of the JoJo’s ending songs are Western songs. It’s an incredibly creative and unique series, it was my first anime and although it’s not in my top ten of favorites, it’s just so special and cool.

Oh dang you actually got to do 1 jojo piece haha. I've commented on the suggestions video you did about before too, but I'll say it here again since it is related to this video. If you plan on doing the openings, here are the names and singers/artist yet again 1.) JoJo ~Sono Chi no Sadame~ by Hiroaki Tominaga (or TOMMY) [Full Version length is 4mins 22seconds] 2.) BLOODY STREAM by Kazusou Oda (or Coda) [Full Version length is 4mins 22seconds] 3.) STAND PROUD by Jin Hashimoto (or JIN) [Full Version length is 4mins 38seconds] 4.) JoJo Sono Chi no Kioku ~end of THE WORLD~ by JO☆STARS ~TOMMY, Coda, JIN~ (As the name states, it is performed by all three previous artists haha) [Full Version length is 4mins 25seconds] 5.) Crazy Noisy Bizarre Town by THE DU (This band was created to perform this song. The member's names are Jun Shirota, Jeity, and Taisuke Wada) [Full Version length is 3mins 05seconds] 6.) chase by batta [Full Version length is 2mins 15seconds] 7.) Great Days by Karen Aoki & Daisuke Hasegawa [Full Version length is 4mins 03seconds] 8.) Fighting Gold by Kazusou Oda (or Coda) [Full Version length is 4mins 14seconds] 9.) Uragirimono no Requiem by Daisuke Hasegawa [Full Version length is 3mins 30seconds] 10.) STONE OCEAN by ichigo [Full Version length is 3mins 29seconds] 11.) Heaven's falling down by sana (or sajou no hana. This is the band's name) [Full Version length is 3mins 33seconds]
