Lover of Jesus naw. WoWP was a very well rounded show. It was a lot more “adult” than a lot of the shows at the time. I have to disagree with you. Even watching it to this day I can see a lot more mature themes and subjects. Not in a raunchy way, but dealing with serious subject matters. It may have dealt with them in a way that kids could understand, but it was still very serious about how it approached certain subjects. Self-worth, loneliness, insecurities. Feeling less-than. It was all very delicately touched upon and serious, packaged into a show that was palatable for the young ones. I think you may be misremembering it, perhaps clouded by this idea that old Disney was supposed to be fun and happy. A lot of Disney shows at the time touched on heavy subjects but never so much as WoWP.
