Araki’s habit of handicapping characters from previous parts is a shame. Joseph should have kept up his hamon training so he would have had more use to the party other than being their cash resource and comedic relief.

King Bradley from Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood went out like a true badass. He only lost his fight with scar cause scar got lucky.

More of the fact that he had his best power taken from him and was bleeding pretty heavily prior to the fight. He straight up admits that he was gonna die to one of the gang in a full on fight. The sunlight glimmer is what probably stopped it from being a draw.

doesn't the king fight in both Full Metal series? the king was far too deadly for greed and was on able to be kept in check by pride when he was wrath but when he was pride didn't he battle his own army?

the introduction and build up and the twist was well done in hunter x hunter. even his training was impressive. I was surprised by it because I didn't expect that going into the fight between the ant king and chairmen of hunter association.

The part tekking left out because he doesn't do his research very well with jiraiya is yes Naruto learn sage mode because of jiraiya yada yada yada but it's because of jiraiya that he also figured out how to beat pain realizing that the real pain is in among them

We don't know that actually. Yes, gohan did die but I doubt he went full power due to the risk of killing Goku. Personally I think he only died because he was trying to find a way to bring Goku back to normal, cause I don't think he would want to risk hurting him

I always assumed dark king was a reference to him being the advisor to roger as first mate. Also after roger died he disappeared and if he emerged he could have been king, he was the king in the shadows, the hidden dragon.

Netero’s death was, I think, entirely necessary for the context of the story and that fight, I don’t think it really would have worked if he hadn’t died. And I think that it was set up in such a way that you were meant to know it was coming and that made it so much better and more satisfying.

Agreed. It was set up in such a way that the audience knew netero would not win even though he’d put up a hell of a fight. Zeno thought his battle was foolish and it looked like he had no intention of coming back from the fight, his only hope was to stall him for as long as possible and then hope to kill him via radiation poisoning from his dirty bomb, which was exactly what he set out to do and accomplished, but that was because of the extreme experiential advantage he had over meruem he knew from the get go that he could never beat him in terms of power and strength

Great video, loved it, mostly agree, until the visit the grandparents thing. (I am slightly biased for Netero being amazing because HxH, so thank you for mentioning this is only about death fights). Normally I would agree, but the two grandparents who lived far away that I would visit and my great grandpa have been dead for a few years and I do not wanna try and go to the afterlife to see them and come back. Not to mention today I saw my living grandma and remembered why I wish I did not live on the same side of the country, let alone within the same city, as her.

Joseph is not only one of the best "Anime Old Dudes" but he's also a great example how to properly subvert ones expectations. In his case, you might say he has the opposite of the Joestar curse by outliving some of his closest friends and family members (which somewhat ironic seeing he fought against beings that wanted to achieve immortality, and you can even include Kira into that). Side note if anyone ever asks you what you're doing during the skits, you should put them in the blooper reel. X3>
