Welcome to the channel everyone. I am so glad you are here! In this video, I am going to show you a fabulous way to use up those pints/quarts of home canned apple pie filling. Not somebody who cans? That's okay, I will write the recipe down below for those who do not can. You can still enjoy this delicious recipe, it will just taste a bit different, but still yummy! Hope you enjoy!
Recipe Amounts for 8x8 (double if you want a 13x9)
**If using home canned pie filling, only use the topping recipe**
APPLE FILLING (Use if you DO NOT have home canned pie filling to use)
6-8 apples of choice - peeled, cored and sliced (half granny smith and half honeycrisp are delicious for a mix)
2 Tbsp granulated sugar
1 3/4 tsp ground cinnamon
1 1/2 tsp lemon juice
TOPPING (No need to double this for 13x9 size, unless you prefer to)
1 cup light brown sugar
3/4 cup old fashioned oats
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup COLD unsalted butter, diced up
a pinch of kosher salt
350 DEGREES 40-50 MINUTES (OVENS VARY) BAKE UNTIL GOLDEN BROWN AND BUBBLY

I think a simple intro is good, especially if you are teaching how to do something. If they are too long they may take away from the actual info. I enjoy your chat about your family as you go. My daughter has 5 boys and her house is crazy busy.

Many channels do the pantry challenge as part of their yearly content. I agree using things that are close to expiration, freezer items you have had for a long time or that you havent been using is a good idea. But after what we went through in 2020, I dont think depleting your freezers and stockpile down to nothing is a good idea. Use up anything that's been sitting, but continue to stockup on things you use when the price is good.

This looks amazing! I'll have to get that recipe out watch your video for the filling "how to" so that I can make this for our family. And ps, what you said about people being from the northeast is hilarious! I have family from MA and that is so true with them!! Ha ha!

I agree with you about using through our stores. I felt very uncomfortable with it very quickly. There’s a reason we keep our pantry and freezers stocked like we do. We stopped a little over two weeks into the challenge.

I can quarts and pints of apple pie filling, since our pie dish holds 6 cups of pie filling (1 of each size jar for every pie). Thank you for sharing this recipe - my husband prefers apple crisps to pies. I enjoy all your videos.

I just saw this video and what is cool is that I just made apple crisp for first time a few days ago .... I got 9 bags of gala green apples and used 1 bag .... funny my dish I used is just like yours and I used 1 cup of oatmeal and 1/2 cup of crushed granola and I used a metal hammer on the butter and I too did a double batch and also experience a lot of topping .... I'm going to can the rest of my bags and love your videos !!!

I like a mixture of both videos that get to the point and those that have an intro, especially if there is a back story to the video! You could probably do this with any fruit, right? Especially any pie filling but I bet this would be fantastic with Palisade peaches!! 🤤
