Pa Mac lays down a tin roof and puts up some rough-sawn lumber on his new, old-fashioned pole barn workshop. It's the 11th episode of The Farm Hand's Companion Show, and the 5th installment of the Building a Pole Barn Structure series. A great video for showing the ins and outs of building a barn.
Be sure and subscribe to the Farm Hand's Companion channel to keep up with the progress as Pa Mac takes an undeveloped piece of property and turns it into a small subsistence farm. Watch for new episodes as often as Pa Mac can crank 'em out and still run a farm. (As long as he's alive and kicking, he's most assuredly farming and filming!)
Also visit www.farmhandsco... to find articles, posts, photographs, and encouragement for today's self-sufficient farm or homestead.

I watch these videos in rainy old Scotland and just wish I had a great big garden to try out all your great projects. Built a shed from pallets as a new workshop but made it too good and my 20 yr old son moved as a study room for university. Next ones gonna be a bit draughty. Thanks Pa Mac, love your channel

I built a shed this year by using salvaged material from two older buildings. One from the original farm where I live now and one that I helped my dad build on the farm I grew up on many years ago...sorta sentimental stuff. I ship lapped all of my wall boards with a half inch dado...that was a JOB!, but I didn't have to cover any joints. I have enjoyed watching you build yours.

Hi Pa; Great job;-). I found that when using self tapping screws slow is better then high speed drilling - truly made a difference. We're to the south west of you, in Cass County Texas although I still live in Houston - I plan to start my barn next spring. There is a mill down the road from us and I can get 16ft trailer loads of trimmings for free If I want to load them (makes great siding, much is it is cedar) or if they load them it's $20.
