Old vintage folding hunting knife restoration.
I bought this old hunting knife at an antique store. He is unique. I really liked this hunting knife and decided to restore it. I removed the rust and made a handle from deer antler. I hope you liked my restoration.

Fabulous looking restoration. Using the antler was a wonderful thought, most people I see using antler take off the face. You took off the back to leave the original rustic look. Great job. 👍🏼👍🏼

What's the deal with the beefy dull tip on the curved blade? I don't remember ever seeing a tool like that. Is it for gutting and dull tip so it doesn't cut into organs?

I had exact the same knife in my youth. But in a much better condition. I had found it at that time in an old abandoned house. I'm not 100% sure anymore but I think it was from Herbertz. So maybe mine was a very good replica from a reputable German manufacturer. Years later I had sold it. I do not remember exactly for how much but much too cheap for today's conditions. The handle was also made of stag in the original.

Nice work on a great old knife. Only suggestion would be rather than using epoxy to attach the stag scales you could have run the pins through them instead as they would have done originally.

Единственное замечание к реставрации. Раз вы уже разобрали вещь до винтика, не поленитесь хромировании все детали. Ведь все равно нож хороший, в него вложено столько сил и вдохновения. Теперь будете ждать появление ржавчины и тихо сокрушаться. Удачи!

Мне кажется на клинках куда лучше смотрится сатин чем полировка. Нож с полированным клинком выглядит как изделие из зоны. И пружины лучше было бы чем то обработать от коррозии, раковины слишком глубокие и в них с большой вероятностью осталась ржавчина
