Excellent video! I’m getting ready to replace the water pump on my 1968 f100 as it’s so loud I can hear it 50m away. As soon as the video started I went “yup, that’s my engine”. first vehicle I’ve owned so I’m really resistant to do my own work on it but this video was super informative and step by step. All I have extra is a power steering pump but that’ll be to easy to loosen so I can get the belt off

Your the best! 4.9 liter engine is so easy to work on! My fan was starting to shake a little, question do i have to have that bleeding tool , or can i just pour the fluid in the radiator as regular?
@JeffsAuto3 жыл бұрын
If you do it that way, be careful!!!, because as the thermostat starts trying to open, it might kinda belch boiling hot coolant out of the top of the radiator.

Jeffs auto i have another question, so my original alternator went bad on my 79 f100 4.9liter same as you have, so i purchased a alternator ,(did get it checked and it was good) from advance auto parts and put it on , put on new voltage regulator but its charging at 12, it should be at 14, ( the alternator light doesnt glow on when attempting to start truck like used to and go away when started.) I do have one right tail light works , and blinks but the left doesnt and no blink. The black/red connectors to the alternator are the original push on old ones, do they need to be changed, what could be my problem? Thanks🙁😁🤝🤝🤝🤝

Could be a bad connection at the battery. Also check for loose connection at the and the connector where the wires attach (which is where mine was loose). I had the same problem.

I know there's an old video and you probably won't see this comment but put a bigger alternator to help with the electric fan.
