I always like comics that explore this side to Sonic. Sonic to me seems like a person who doesn't easily open up emotionally . Sure, whenever he's around others, he's a great aspiring figure, and is good at getting others to open up, but when it's him personally, it's a different story. We see it in Sonic Frontiers himself, we're he's putting on brave faces for his friends and Sage, but when he's by himself (or thinks he's by himself) he's alot more openly vulnerable. I like how he kind of vents his feelings to Chip here, but also mostly does it because he believes he can't hear him and thinks he's alone. But when Chip does show he's still with him, he doesn't mind it and even cries a bitl

Chip wil never forget Sonic. It's been a long time since the release of Unleashed but Sonic still has the bracelet

As a kid I wasn’t a fan of Sonics solo adventure. They just felt empty without his friends even if Sonic himself didn’t feel alone with them not around. That’s something I like about the live action Sonic movies: They humanize him. In the first movie he hasn’t met all his friends yet, he genuinely feels alone which is a feeling he’s never expressed in the games.

This is how I feel after the end of a big phase in life. Whether it's leaving school, graduating from college, or moving to a new place, I miss the friends I made and realise they don't need me anymore. Nevertheless I try my best each day to remember the adventures I had with them all. To quote Joey from Yu-Gi-Oh's final episode: true friends may be hard to leave, but they're impossible to forget.

I think what makes this comic special, besides showcasing the bond that Sonic and Chip had throughout Unleashed, is that this comic made Sonic… relatable. Deep down, I think lots of us have a fear that once people come and go in our lives… that people… especially the people we love the most… won’t need us anymore. But the truth is, we all carry around a piece of every friend we make by cherishing the memories we made with them and learning from them. I have lots of people I don’t see anymore that I miss to bits and pieces, but in a way… they never left. Not when I can always remember the times we all had together and can use it as fuel to get back up and continue to choose to live with joy.
