I like the cheap, but good bourbon hunt. Walmart in my area sells Old Forester 86 for $16. I wish they carried the 100. They had1792 for $24. I just recently tried the 114, it was $22 at the liquor store I frequent. Definitely a winner for the price. I really like the Old Forester Rye too, which cost me $22. I recently paid too much for Rare Breed, but it was the only place that had it. I'd take the 3 bottles of 114 I could get over it.

I am in the same boat as you, been eyeing this whiskey for 2 plus years now but just haven't pulled the trigger yet. With the holidays right around the corner and this bottle being only $30 I think the time is soon, very soon for me.

I like to mix it 50/50 with Jim beam prohibition rye

JB and Heaven Hill both have a pretty consistent peanut note throughout most of their products. Brown Forman (Jack Daniel's, Old Forester, Woodford Reserve) is a slight banana or tropical note for a lot of theirs. The more you try of different brands, the more you pick out. :)

See, now you're making me sad that there's another bottle I probably will like, but can't get in my area.

Looking forward to y'all's Noah's Mill review, I love just about everything from the Willett distillery, and NM is one of the few I have not tried yet.

I need to make a trip down to the valley to total wine. I noticed they have Old Forrester Rye for $18.99 too. It might be worth the trip to see what else they have at those prices. ...problem being, any savings get ate up by $'s for gas.

They're not both JB, like OT or OC or KC. JB now BS makes it, buy it's a different mash bill consistent with OGD's high rye mash bill. JB product, but not a Beam variant.

I can totally see that. I have both OGD114 and 1792FP. I like the 114 so much more than the 125.

@@trackvol Yeah, I picked up a 1792 Full Proof Store Pick last month and I was NOT impressed, it is very one dimensional. It just tastes like a big bowl of bananas.

@@StillLivinginthewoods you got an even better bottle of it than I did then. Mine doesn't even have the banana notes. Mine was pretty much just like tasting sawdust that had been soaked in kerosene.

Honestly from what I've tasted I think non store pick 1792s are better than store picks.

Ehh, we have all probably overpaid for BT products at this point. I love to hate on their stuff, and 90 is a little steep, but if you've never had it why not. I recently got one for about 70, and im not too upset about it

@@BourbonJunkies Wow fellas I am lucky to be in south Alabama I found Virgin Bourbon 7 year 101 proof stated bottles today I loaded up if you guys haven’t researched this please do basically only select areas of the south have it mainly NC and Alabama and they have went away from their 7 year age stated bottles supposedly because this is a Heaven Hill product and many are claiming it’s the same Old Ezra 7 juice, I know it’s every bit as good and get this it’s only a $15 bottle for a 7 year 101 proof unheard of for that kind of money, I like EW BIB for a budget buster but WOW this stuff is so much better, word is they banned the 7 year labeling now because of the Heaven Hill 7 BIB that has came out so I am gonna load up on this one being I am able to get that 7 year label still here in my area.
