On January 11, the US and the UK launched strikes on Houthi targets in Yemen. The strikes come after Houthis attacks on commercial ships passing the Red Sea. However, Western allies Saudi Arabia and the UAE watched these latest developments from the sidelines instead of taking part. Saudi Arabia will not join because Biden betrayed them in his first days of the presidency when he was hostile to the Saudis. As for the Houthis, the reason they are not afraid is the same reason the Afghans are not afraid, because they have caves and mountains that they can hide inside and their confidence that America will not gamble with another 20 years in Yemen.
