Just comparing one of the first rangers with the latest one. There are some big differences but the older rangers can still hold their own.

I have never commented on a KZfaq video before but really wanted to let you know I love your videos on the Ranger! I just bought a new one last week. Black Pearl. I plan on putting the radio in soon and will watch your video on that again. It was really good. Question for you, I'm already getting the squeaks in the rear. not sure if you are experiencing those yet or not but if you do I would love to see a video on how to get rid of them. I guess it's a common problem. Anyway, keep the videos coming! I just subscribed

Glad you enjoy the videos. I normally would have gotten a black one myself but wanted something bright and different. I think the blue is very popular and had I known that I would have gotten a different color. I don't like going the popular route with anything. I like to go my own way. The Polaris Rangers are great machines but they are known for making odd noises. Most of the time those are loose plastic pieces. I don't hear any squeak in the rear but I hear something in the front. I think I have found it but need to trying something to see if I can get it quiet. They are great machines and you won't be disappointed with it. They just need a little tweaking to be perfect.

You have two zerk fittings in back. They look like a sway bar. Pump enough grease until you see it exit out the ends. I had to go over mine to make sure the dealer prepped it correctly.

I have a 2001 polaris ranger 4x4 and one of the wheels doesn't spin in the rear, and it makes a really loud clanking/racket when in reverse. Is this an issue you have dealt with with one of these older units? The diff lock does nothing it seems. It was bought as a project I don't know what happened to it.

My guess would be the axle is stripped out.

I bought a sunset red xp 900 LE last Tuesday. I bought the glass front windshield glass rear canvas top and canvas doors. I thought about getting the plexiglass front windshield. But I heard bad reviews cracking and yellowing. EBay and Amazon is where I got mine from. I got mine for hunting. If you keep your machine outside no storage shed. Check out Seal Skin Covers. 10 year warranty. That's a nice rig you have love that blue. A little secret when going into gear. Put it in reverse hold your brakes and give it a little gas. It will ease into gear without the clunk. Same for low and high. Mine is still stiff. Eventually it will get broken in.

That is an awesome tip using the brake while starting out. Going to have to try that out. Mine is still really stiff. Low range never seems to clunk on mine. You are going to be way happier with the glass. Thanks for the tip.

was thinking about getting a new 2017 xp 900. was wondering, have you ever had issues with your 900? i want to get the full cab setup with the same power windows, and a plow also i am gonna get the audio roof and heater setup as well. and i just wanna check and see if you ever have issues with yours

I just went over 1000 miles this week. I haven't had any issues. My belt was squeaking but that has gone away. When you start it for the first time you can hear what sounds like lifters making a noise in the motor but from what I have heard that is normal.

thank you very much for the info. it helped me decide that what i just made was a good choice. i was originally set to get the newer mule sx xc and the whole setup but i liked how these have the windows and the better ground clearance and everything else

The power side windows are expensive but pretty awesome. I love being able to push a button and set my arm on the door just like my truck. In the winter they do let some wind blow in but with the heater it's not really an issue.

What parts did you add to your 6x6 for the roof, windshield, rear window and snorkel?

The roof was on it when I bought it. Not sure of brand. The windshield was a NOS Polaris one I found online. Probably one of the last ones. The snorkel was custom made. If you look on my channel and look for the playlist on that 2003 Polaris Ranger 6x6 I have most the stuff I did to it on video.

Mossman.Need help.My 2004 Ranger 6x6 is down with rear axle U joints need replacing.Polaris not producing axles or u joints.Where can I get new u joints.I was told that Polaris is only obligated to produce parts for 10 years.Wow!Help please.

Yes, but they are still pretty close to the same machine. More power, faster and smoother riding. The first rangers were more work machines.

The 02 2x4 was sold. The 6x6 was bought a few years later.

The older rangers are a great value. I use mine a lot so I went with new. I was planning on getting a 900 at some point. Didn't think this soon but I am not complaining.

I started to buy a honda UTV. Not hating on the Honda I've had a few all were rock solid. I just didn't like the looks of it. Didn't like the back seats either. I'm sure it's a good rig it's a Honda of course. I like the power and the looks of the ranger. When these stock Carlisle wear out I'm buying a set of big horns. 8 ply tire good all around tire.

I started out in a Yamaha atv. Then dad bought a sportsman 500 and I fell in love with the power and ride. So I got myself a Sportsman 500. I had that a long time. Found my first Ranger. It was beat up and old but bought it anyway. That was the start of my Ranger love. Have not had anything other since. I use mine everyday. Honda's are good machines. I have a 71 Trail 90 and dad has a 74 XL250. I restored both of them. Great machines. The Bighorns are great tires. I have had a few sets. I have Super Swampers on my Ranger now. If I didn't run a lot of hard pack I would go Bighorn.

I've got to get a windshield I want a glass one but to much money I've looked and any glass one l've Seen is atleast $700 I already have 17k in my ranger and if I buy a windshield I'll want the roof the the back glass and then doors so that will end up 2 or 3 thousand quick

I had over $20k in a fully cabbed 2010 800 and sold it for $12k. They get expensive quickly.

I have a 1999 polaris ranger 6x6 . So the ranger never came out in 2001 like u said .....just sayin

i have a 2006 6x6 700 twin cylinder i love it. i think they look more manly tough 50 percent more tread/traction larger bed. i really like your 6x6 better. but your new one is nice. just dont think the price diffrence is justified not trying to be mean. i have followed ALL you polaris videos and have done most of your upgrades heck i just did the 2 inch lift on the front yesterday. i put a box with a shovel with quick fist and freeze plugs to hold it all. doors same as you. light bar etc the only thing i havent done is the tires but i will when i can afford it. im a big mossman polaris fan. and think out of all the polaris you have owned the 6x6 is my favorite! thats why i got one.

I agree that for the money an older ranger is the best. The 2 inch front lift is a great mod. I really miss my big 6x6 bed. I am sorry that I am selling the ranger you like. I would keep them both if money was not a factor.

Yup, I saw one at my dealer when they first came out. I was drooling all over it back then. Probably why I am buying Rangers still today.
