External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar slams George Soros for his recent remark on India and said, “Mr Soros is an old, rich opinionated person sitting in New York who still thinks that his views should determine how the entire world works...such people actually invest resources in shaping narratives. People like him think an election is good if the person they want to see, wins and if the election throws up a different outcome then they will say it is a flawed democracy the beauty is that all this is done under the pretence of advocacy of open society,” he added.

This Jaishankar must be the biggest clown ever as far as a Foreign Minister for India is concerned. How can you comment on George Soros, who is a nobody. He is just a billionaire and all that the FM should have done is said that it done not behove his dignity to comment on a private individuals opinion who is a non state actor. Soros is a red herring. A student of Karl Popper and the open society and an anti-socialist free market proponent. India is a country and should not be demeaned by taking cheap shots. What a tragedy. That's not how it works. Once SIMI was banned by Congress government at centre and it came out in other name and form like PFI. And again BJP government had to ban it again. He is amongst one of the limited people on this whole planet who has so clearly busted out the western hypocrisies at an international stage. He is not the only Asian who has pointed out this, but his stature is such that the world listens to him. He can't be put into some xyz camps by the west, unlike others. Therefore, he is coming out as the true voice, of not just India (or the Indians) but the whole Global South today. Great salute to him!

Basic diplomacy tells you that dignity of nation and office first. There was a simple way to say Soros is a private individual and his opinions have no bearing of Indian Policy and international standing. You dont enter into Tu Tu may may with a private individual and calling him old what nonsense is that. No respect for age here. Soros is not a government or a country. Only BJP is taking him seriously because they want conspiracy. Three years ago it was JNU. Now it is Soros. Adani was greedy and made many mistakes. This is a semi literate undignified government.
