Snoop is an absolute CLOWN for this! There are a ton of great rappers - Snoop barely scratches the top 50, arguably. Tupac is my favorite rapper of all time, but he's not even in my top 5 if I'm taking all aspects of hip-hop into account; adaptability, articulation, cadence, impact/influence, longevity, sales, word play, etc. Honesty, I grew up during Em's prime and didn't like his music at all. I felt like it was just goofy. However, he's only getting better with age. Of course, that's my personal opinion, but it shows that he's able to adapt and grow. Ever since Kamikaze dropped, he's consistently held my attention.

Em is literally a modern-day Shakespeare. Only difference between a poem and a song is the music. This man is arguably the greatest lyricist of the past century, a man who not only writes lyrics with double, triple, quadruple entendre, but even when he talks you can hear him speaking with a certain rhythm, like a natural iambic pentameter. It's instinctive to him, like he's got a metronome stuck in his brain. He can spit bars in a moment's notice, no planning, no warning. The moment you challenge him to a rap battle, Em's neurons are firing at the speed of light to ruin you with just two lines.

I think the reason I love hip hop so much is because I love poetry. I love the flow of words, but the reason I love rappers like Chuck D and 2Pac so much is that they can take such simple words and string them together in such a deep and meaningful way. They can turn it into an essay on modern society and it hits so hard. Eminem is so clever and funny, just totally outside the box. I don't know how I would get thru life without music - esp Prince!!

i could easily say the same about krayzie bone... while i can admit eminem has abetter pen game in total... its krayzie bone who excels in every other thinkable category of skill you can bring to artistry. couldnt even exaggerate. his hands/fingers sometimes look like they're trapped in unnatural positions, even when he is relaxed, due to all the gesturizing you tend to do when rapping. these people spend every wakin moment on their craft that their physically and mentally wired by it.

Snoop's statement is exactly what 50 cent is talking about when he says "hip-hop is black music and that is why there are some black people that cannot aknowledge that there is a white dude that plays the game better than black rappers". He hates that statement because is true and throws hate at Eminem for it.
@Officialencode
@Officialencode 2 жыл бұрын
It's not hate. The symbol of black solidarity that is hip hop cannot stand on the shoulders of a white man's success. Of course the black struggle intersects with class struggle, and that was most likely Eminem's point of entry, BUT he's now essentially a rich white man -- his history allows him to understand parts of our culture especially through hiphop, but no part of him today represents the core of hiphop. As an artist, i consider him the best lyricist ever.
@GabrielHernandez-if7yh
@GabrielHernandez-if7yh 2 жыл бұрын
@@Officialencode I am sorry but your reply to this comment is pure ignorance. Nobody EVER have said that Eminem represents black people or their struggle better than black peopke themselfs. I would say em is the best rapper from an overall standpoint. Lyrically, he has used more words than anyone else and that's an actual fact. He also has always spoke it like it needed to be said. He does not hold back or sugar coat things, he tells them straight up. Plus, you can hear his pain, he doesn't just say things to say them. One of the biggest issues with rap is half the stuff isn't even true or is over exaggerated. The best part about em was he was never afraid or scared to say anything. There will never be anyone like him, especially these days where every little thing offends someone. I hope you all enjoyed him, dude will always be an absolute legend.

When I put his music on and try to learn and sing his lyrics, I get goosebumps because I loose my breath and he just keeps going and going and gets louder and can even scream his lyric at the end!! I’m just in awe!!! And I love his voice!!! I would love to shake his hand and just giggle at marveling over him! (Even though I’m not into “celebrities”. I’m talking TALENT! Oh!! And I ALSO have many many other black rappers who I think are also INCREDIBLE AND PROFOUND!! So not to discount the countless other talented other artists…But we are talking about E here.

I'll always be an Eminem fan. Granted I wasn't a huge fan of his albums after The Eminem Show, until he reinvented the style he created with the Shady 2.0 mixtapes. People can say whatever they want about Eminem, but to question or doubt his skill or his authenticity in the hip hop culture is blasphemous. The man has worked so hard and made sure to take off his shoes the moment he walked into the house of rap, for anyone to talk down on him is disrespectful.

This is what Dre was talking about that got him so dissapointed that his own people turned their backs on him coz he opened up on producing a white rapper. Dre said black people are racist too, and one in particular that he was talking about was snoop. Well he didn't regret a bit helping eminem, and look where it brought Dre. He made more millions with Em than with snoop. Lol

But he never ever disrespected hip hop he gave more to the hip hop industry than alot of rappers I could mention. It's so sad that there are ppl that can't see past the colour of skin. Dr Dre, Eminem, 50 Cent's friendship should be more than enough to end racism.. Eminem deserves more recognition period he is at the top with hip hop legends.. His wordplay is off the chain how he makes everything rhyme. He is one of the best rappers and he should be treated as such

Hip Hop/Rap was created on the backs of little black boys/girls so when we listen to a genre that came from us but isn’t necessarily speaking to us that’s why some people take points away from Em. It's funny cause Dre mentioned in one of his songs a about all these new busters, they don't knew crap, they have no idea when these gangs started and why, and because of that they all cocky thinken they know things when they actually know crap. Like I stated it doesn't matter really who is better than who, give respect were is due, and they both deserve that.

@Xavier X The artists who were better writers, had smoother delivery and made better music rank higher on my list. It is literally that simple. No need to examine HZ and emotional response to pop music. I'm not a 14 year old girl listening to Justin Bieber for the first time. I also never said Biggie or Eminem were my favorite rappers. I just said they are better than the people ranked above them on your list. Which 95% of hip hop listeners would agree is accurate

The one thing ppl gotta understand about EM, is the fact, he respects every rapper that came b4 him. He gives them the highest regard and that makes me respect him more. He does it 4 the culture of rap, not the skin color, not the fame but the culture. If you listen to EM interviews, that man has changed his top 5 plenty of times, meaning to him, all the rappers influenced him in some way. He gives credit to all of them. I salute him 4 that. But damn if he doesn't demand the same thing for himself. And rightfully so, cause he has had the influence and he has the right skills. Respect the man for respecting the game.

You're so right. People talk about all of this r@cism now but when I was growing up there were NO black rock bands until Sevendust, one of my all-time favorite metal bands. Then more cam along. Funny there's no discussion about black people coming into heavy music. They're embraced and we love them. I see far more younger people with best friends from different races than I ever did as a kid. This whole thing is utter bullsh!t from my generation. Another way to divide us. Em broke a barrier. He showed that an underdog that wants something bad enough can achieve it. So sad some of his counterparts have such an issue with his skin color.

Xan retired. Pump on life support thanks to social media antics. Yatchy slowly fading away and also only relevant thanks to social media repostings of his antics. Iggy Whackzalea gone. MGK switched genres. Migos on life support. Tekashi been REAL quiet. He on life support too. Yeah slowly but surely these dudes is finna be gone.
