I head out to some late 1800's alluvial digging in the search of gold and it's not long before gold came to light, including one cracker of a nugget and yes, you can call this one a nugget!!!

A fine lumpy piece, Pete. You'd be chuffed having gone somewhere uncertain of results... We're looking to visit Bakery Hill, but shouldn't expect anything more than a pastie, a custard pie and a Big M. Then, to a nearby park for a scratch. If the fingers aren't frozen. Cheers, Gabi.

That's how we like them Gabi, it's great when you go to an area and get straight on the gold. I don't think you should dig up Bakery Hill, althogh there would be good gold there, so you best stick with the baked goods. Cheers

It's nice to see the scale's get past the point mark, with one nugget, I was hoping you were onto a good patch of larger ones, but! if there not there, the small ones will do! Thanks Aaron, the bigger gold is getting harder to find, I used to get several of these a year and now it's about 1, and that was also the case with the 4500 in the last few years, I guess all the easy gold is gone and you have to look in not so obvious places, but that means having goldless days. It definitely does on the small stuff and does it well, much better than even the 7000, the 6000 has a much clearer response, but I'm sure other would disagree. Cheers mate 👍

Old man, that's a bit rough 😂 I'm only a few years on the wrong side of 50. I keep pretty fit, ran 9km at footy training the other night and then a couple of k's of sprint training last night, and playing footy Saturday, so your only a old as you feel and I'm doing pretty good at the moment. Well done Pete 👍, do you think it was emi on that little shot, I've been having issues, spiking/ noisy as hell, between the planes and emi from? Then its quite as a mouse, it's go time.Got a nice patch full of .1 up to a gram plus heaps of shot 3 to 1 in favour of the lead, but got a few grams so far. I pick your nugget for 1.23 getting slack in my old age.😁

Thanks Craig, I was getting the yip noises all day, the weather came over in the arvo. Some days the 6 run's bad, but most days it's great, I know I can have trouble in certain areas around Eaglehawk, it's a pain because it can mask the soft signals. Sounds like your onto a good area, I don't mind digging lead if there's gold around. Good guess mate, only .1 off, that's pretty good going. Cheers
