We took advantage an Old Town Team angler, @reecestoughton helping at the Strictly Sail & Kayak (‪@strictlysailkayak9272‬ booth at the Cincy Boat Show, and had him do a quick walkthrough of some of his favorite features on this Old Town PDL 106 pedal kayak in the demo pool.

SOPs don't take on water. It's a sealed hull, any water that comes in goes out. I've fished one for 10 yrs on lakes rivers and creeks, never used scupper plugs once, and never had an issue.

It gets a little wet. It's not taking on water unless you open the storage compartment that goes into the hull

@@surefiremushroomsmicrogreens that's fair but I'm sure you'll find once you get into fishing more tournaments, that $6,000 older bass boat isn't going to be as competitive as you thought you could be in it. These kayaks you see that're $4,000+ (personally I think the Native TitanX 12.5 is the best on the market right now for the money) aren't for just the average pond hopper these are made for people who either fish tournaments avidly or avid fisherman who are looking for a lighter more towable, more mobile option. But if non of that is of any concern to you then by all means buy your $6,000 94 bass tracker with a 30 year old 25-35hp two stroke and fish to your hearts desire!

Those kayaks are cool but for the love of god can you put some sort of removable plug in those drain holes? I hate having water coming in the boat when I get in and out. If I need to drain water I’ll pull them but that’s the most annoying thing about these sit on kayaks to me

You can buy scupper plugs for the scupper holes, most people just don't bother.

Warranty question, if I use the kayak mainly for saltwater fishing and lets say its beginning to rusy and if the drive goes out is it cover by the warranty?

Sit on tops always have a little water in that area, especially pedal drive yaks before u lock the pedal drive in place

Why would you want to put the dry storage department where the water stands all the time? When you open it the water can get In because of the drain holes and the peddles splashing water on to the dry storage department 😮😮😮

Those are scupper holes, you can buy plugs for them but most people just ignore them.

The Old Town PDL 106 has a hull weight of 107 pounds and can be cartopped with the appropriate kayak cradles.

What does one of these run as far as cost? I wanted to get a peddle drive, but I also wanted to buy 3 kayaks for my family. I picked up 3 ascend kayaks for about $1200 out the door. I might upgrade in a few years

Most people don't bother with scupper plugs for the holes but they are available.
