Yup, I spend many many hours a year in it so I try to have everything I need and be as comfortable as possible..I'm still well under the kayaks usable weight capacity also. These fishing kayaks are meant for this amount of rigging.

@@silentjoutdoors I started off kayak fishing with everything but the kitchen sink, but I've been doing what I can to shed weight, primarily because I often come across currents that I have difficulty with even with my pedal drive. Do you ever face that issue in your 'yak, or do you find your pedal drive can make headway against pretty much any current?

@michaelfinger6711 I honestly haven't experienced that issue. But you need to remember I have pedals AND an NK 180 kayak motor that will push my kayak 5mph all day. So the current is not a concern of mine, if I was going on a river without my motor, I wouldn't have it so loaded. But even before my motor I river fished and for sure the current can make it hard but I've never had too hard a time, these kayaks are very comfortable and rather good at getting around

Awesome! Ya I thought about the new K1 bixpy also and that battery but ultimately felt like the NK 180 was the best choice for me. So far zero complaints and couldn't be happier! The NK300 on here would get ya moving hahaha

Thank you! I do love my setup and tried to think it through for the best setup I could have with the amount of gear I have on here. It does work well, for my purposes I have no complaints. I have no problem getting around but the steering is less responsive than normally just with the pedals, but honestly its fine. My issue is I compete in tournaments that don't allow motors, this is why I haven't just replaced the rudder with the NK and attached the steering cables to the motor. This season I have a new kayak so will be switching the rudder to the larger autopilot rudder and I expect to have better steering responsiveness with this! That's a great option, many people do exactly that. There's lots of room with the pedals. But if you don't really need the pedals, why not just get the autopilot?

Thanks! So first off, with the NK300 on the PDL 120 you won't be able to rudder steer. It's too powerful and your rudder won't do much. If you want to use the NK300 on this kayak you need to remove the rudder and install the motor and hook it up to the rudder cables and actually turn the motor. With the 180 and rudder steering it's honestly fine for me. You won't flip by turning hard, it's not thag responsive but it can still turn enough.

The NK180 is a great choice, in my opinion it's much much better than the 300 for these kayaks. Other kayaks the 300 is a better choice. You should definitely consider the 180. I would say that is definitely a scam. The best option is to go to your local kayak dealer. You'll get the best service and won't get ripped off.

Hey Randy, fully loaded as you see in the video, I'm getting around 4.5mph on 80% throttle. It's better to use 80% because the battery life is much much better and if I went 100% I only get an extra half a mile an hour so the benefits of literally 5 times the battery life vs .5mph are just too go to ever use 100% haha. Yesterday I did a long 10 hour day on the water and covered A LOT of the lake and used my motor as much as I wanted as a test to see what the battery life was and when I got off the water I still had 50% left! I still can't believe how good that is! It's a 50ah 24volt lithium battery

Hey thanks, I'm in love with the setup. First answer, yes the motor comes off really quickly because its only a carabiner I need to disconnect and the electrical cables. Takes me like 1 min to disconnect or connect. I am not sorry I didn't get the 300. I get 4.6mph from this and more battery life/distance due to the fact I have a 50ah battery but the same size 36 volt battery for the 300 would only be 30ah. And the motor itself is heavier. I doubt I will change to be honest the NK 180 works too well for me and fits my needs exactly. I do not get a ton of water around the pedals, if the water is very rough and I'm cruising full I for sure get water but it's not like my deck is flooded. I'm gonna buy an extra rear hatch for transport only. Use one I have and pull the live scope transducer thru the hatch with a water tight connector.

Hey, so essentially the motor is just pushing me. The rudder is steering. I have the motor slightly pointed towards the front of my kayak and it works pretty good to be honest. I fish tournaments that don't allow motors so like this I can remove it and that's it. If I put it in place of my rudder I'd need to use it all the time or not have a rudder

I'm a Smallmouth Bass enthusiasts, I do it for the challenge and to find bigger and bigger Smallmouth. I do keep some walleye and trout throughout the season but just for a little couple of times a season treat haha. I prefer beef, pork and chicken to fish in general to be honest haha It's a sport and a hobby for me.

When I do decide to keep some, I know to bring my cooler with ice

I love it, the kayak tracks much straighter also. Still a slight lack of steering responsiveness at low speed but when you get moving it turns great. I'm more than happy with it
