X13 creeps me out. They get taller the deeper you go in... It's like it's spreading... There is also a cut ending to OWB where it would have said "Goodsprings was crushed beneath bizarre hexcrete blocks that stacked to the sky.". It's so creepy.

It would be kinda dumb to have Goodsprings be destroyed thanks to random hexagons falling out of the sky, especially considering the think tank has far more dangerous weapons and experiments that would be more intimidating.

My only issue is the part where I kill something with my Gauss rifle at absurd range and get injected with med-x because some supposedly dangerous enemies that aren't going to find me anyway enter the caution state. Still my favorite piece of equipment. I just can't stand burning through med-x for no reason.

Have you ever wanted to be... invisible? Edit: On the subject, is it possible that Christine's assasin suit is one of the failed prototypes? She says many times how she visited Big Mt, and the suit appears to be greenish, which was scribbled on the chalkboard with other ideas. Also, if this is a damaged prototype, then it would explain why it is worse when used for sneaking, and why there is no AI, auto stimpacks, med-x, etc. What do you guys think?

@@GenocidalSquid the wiki isn't always correct. Sometimes people put information there that just isn't true, or has no basis from the games. The asassin suit, while it has some similarities, has quite a few differences than the Sealth Suit Mark II. Namely the colors, and the fact that it is light armor, as opposed to medium armor.

Actually named skeletons like Vera Keyes and Dr. Calis are ghouls wearing skeleton "clothing", it seems as though that set of clothing wasn't equipped for Oxhorn, be it because of mods or bugs.

One thing to note about the scientists seeming to 'goof off' a lot... Well one thing about science in real life is that a lot of testing can involve automation where the computer is running the test or the chemical/reagent/whatever takes a certain amount of time to complete reacting. This can leave the scientist without much to do for considerable amounts of time while they wait for the automated sequence or chemical reaction to finish. In some of the labs I've seen and worked at, scientists will engage in recreational activities they can do in short bursts as a means of passing the time between batches of testing. Of course there's an equal chance these particular scientists at Big Mountain were slackoffs, but I'm offering a possible alternative.

Terminals are remote hardware designed to access a central server (Though fallout's seem more akin to computer's optimized for terminal use). Calis' data is not stored on the terminals but instead the mainframe so if he's logged onto multiple terminals they would show the same thing. @@kimball12812 teleportation - ez. Its just a gun, not an implant or anything that can only be done with a giant machine. Robots - roboscorpions , able to replicate themselves out of nothing and far more deadly stealth - the stealth suit is way better that courser stealth tech.

True very good tech. Teleportation is amazing, and synth infiltrators are great. However there was nothing fun to do in the institute and their weapons were not the best. The sink personalities are the best.

what I love about this series (and all of yours) is that even though I explore these games a great deal, I already knew I missed a lot. But you demonstrate the not only the use but the benefit of excessive exploring (granted any idiot can run through the game and just kill everyone but if you look around you can solve almost anything)

I believe the shipment mistake happened because in the font, and kerning the buildings used, X-13 could be mistaken for X-8 and vice versa.

I think those hexcrates are an SCP seeing how they grow taller the further you go into the facility. And the cut ending for OWB involves them taking over Goodsprings lol. Definitely a keter class, keep your eye out for them...

Chris Avellone is responsible for the vast majority of the writing in all of the New Vegas DLC packs. He’s a freelance contractor now who doesn’t work for Obsidian full time anymore. Most of the team who worked on New Vegas in general are no longer with Obsidian, save for Lead Dev Josh Sawyer.

Oxy you're supposed to use melee weapons against the nightstalkers. It's the quickest way to defeat them. Guns are useless unless you can crit or ohk.

MY two cents on FIDO VS fully upgraded K-9000? *Both weapons go in the 'uniques and collectibles' bin. But if I were forced to use one, I'd use FIDO. .44 Mag is NOT difficult to come by....ok, sure, if you're relying on what you pick up to supply you, then sure, .357 and .45/70 are better calibers, but who does that? Ammo Workbenches are a thing, semi-wadcutters are the cock for dollie when it comes to revolver cartridges, and FIDO's greater alpha damage means you're more likely to drop something before it drops you given neither gun is particularly accurate. Get some SWC .44 mag crafted up and throw it in FIDO's dog bowl, he'll be happy for eons. But honestly, I get both weapons and put 'em in the uniques bin, then carry on with Medicine Stick. So much more satisfying to only need one hit to drop the target and being able to hit them at any range reliably is a plus.

Others have probably pointed this out, but the "thin red paste" is a reference to the game Wasteland, spiritual precursor to the Fallout series. Before Oxhorn's time I imagine, but while the graphics were primitive it compensated a bit with vivid descriptions when an opponent was killed excessively by damage inflicted it would sometimes say things like "Reducing him to a thin red paste" or "exploding him like a blood sausage".
