After a very fun game with my Beastmen last weekend, I decided to tackle a model that has been waiting for paint since the day I bought him. This beastly Doombull Minotaur Lord is finally finished, and I can't wait to send him out on a battlefield soon to wreak havoc. I hope this video helps you get inspired to paint up some more Beastmen yourselves, and let me know what else you'd like to for The Old World tutorial series soon! Gutted you didn't record the beastmen game. I love beastmen and feel like they were always under represented. I get why you didn't but hoping we can see one one day! Your videos have pushed me to paint up my old metal Grave Guard and Black Knights. Found two old metal zombie dragons which will be fun too!

The best thing to do while painting a model is to rehearse the statlines…”Basilicanum grey, weapon skill 6, strength 6, toughness 5, wounds 5, …” over and over. Maybe expound on the special rules, previous versions, and so on.

Georgeous, I'm almost tempted to rush out and get myself an angry cow! I wish I had your patience - I'm working through my Tomb Kings and I just can't bring myself to take the time these models really deserve. Apart from a Khalida model I won on ebay, the rest I just want to get painted and done!

And I think you have the rite attitude. Characters and some special units get more attention. But basic stuff just needs to get done. I won’t be spending loads of time on my got for instance. Just a quick drybrush and contrast.

I’d like to share my recipe to painting flesh for this glorious monster :) just another simple and effective variation. So: 1. Grey primer 2. Cadian fleshtone 3. 1:1 contrast medium and giliman flesh 4. Drybrysh cadian fleshtone 5. 2:1 contrast medium and druchi violet into the deepest parts 6. Layer: - cadian ( optional ) - 1:1 cadian and flayed one - 1:2 cadian and flayed one

The old models definitely had a charm to them. Good job as always. Iron Warriors has become my favorite metallic paint for the 'bad guys'. It's darker and takes washes really well.

Really enjoying the vids, been binging the old world stuff. However, when binging, the same song in every video on loop get old soon. Maybe switch it up and use a few more songs in the future?

This could just be my monitor or your camera, but the skin really looked like it lost that redness you were after you layered it up, what about adding a drop or two of the bloodshade to the dwarf and elf skins as you layer it up? On a separate note I really like the way you used the BftBG on the axe, and I thought that looked great over the LB, but I'm wondering if the rest of the steel would have worked better if you just did IW after the wash with some touch highlights of LB wherever you weren't going to streak the blood effects.
