Oldboy is a part of a trilogy that also involves the movies Lady Vengeance, and Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance. They are all good and very shocking movies to watch.

Park Chan-wook is the best director representing South Korea along with Bong Joon-ho. To fully taste Park Chan-wook's power, I recommend watching all three episodes of the movie Revenge.

Yes finally! So glad you are watching the original. This has been my favorite SK movie for twenty years. This is an example of phenomenal writing and superb acting. No Hollywood big budget required.

Oldboy is based on a manga with the same name but it’s also is a telling of the old Greek storytelling of catharsis with the story of Oedipus Rex hence the name of the protagonist Oh Dae Su who is a man that kills his father marries his mother and upon discovering this fact stabs both his eyes out (Oh Dae Su cuts his own tongue)

I'm jealous of the 'Oldboy' virginity (basically people who hasn't seen or know its story) ... It's a truly shocking experience :)

This movie is crazy. And it's marvelous. The more I look at it, the crazier and more wondrous it is. I can't put it into words. I'm just confused. It's like the director's a lunatic or a genius and the actors have lived in the movies.

Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance is my favorite of the trilogy. He also did a vampire movie called "Thirst," about a priest who becomes a vampire and battles his thirst and faith. "The Tiger" is good if u want to see what happens when Jaws and the Lion King have a baby.

Hey Editor, what would you think about them watching Hot Ones? The KZfaq show where they get mega celebrities to eat super spicy wings and freak out. It's so good. I just watched The Homies react to Friday After Next with Terry Crews and i remembered he was so great on Hot Ones. They've had all kinds of people like Shaq, Kevin Hart, Cardi B, etc. The wings get hotter and hotter til their heads almost explode. Would be a cool thing to add besides the movies

This is one of the classics. For a different totally different Korean classic, I recommend "My Sassy Girl", which got an American remake - but watch the original. It's totally different from the other Korean movies you've seen, it's a romantic comedy, a genre I generally don't like that much.
