This guy is not the typical failed out of college. He’s highly accomplished.

I know I’m late to the conversation but I paused at the 6:58 mark to type this is. He made a comment that I myself have said and when he said it, it resonated within my soul. You only have one life to live and you don’t want to have any regrets. I am 41, not married, and don’t have any children. I went into undergrad as a nursing/pre-med and I took all the pre-reqs but didn’t pursue medicine b/c as it was, I didn’t have the best GPA and even though I passed all my science classes, it wasn’t competitive with my peers, at all! I thought I wasn’t going to get it and I had the idea that I would be married and have kids and medicine would interfere in that. I was young and I was doing what was best for me at that time in my life. It is what I did or should I say what I did not do is what hurts me. I am now a nurse practitioner but that it had its hurdles and even after all that, I still want to do medicine. Make it make sense?! ☺️ To cut it short, let me at least try so that I can be at peace with myself and not look back with regrets.

Thank you for posting this man’s amazing and inspirational story! I’m attempting to change careers to the medical field but I’ve been out of school for a decade. I’m 36 and have been stressing myself out trying to knock out pre req courses while working full time and trying to get into a post-bac ASAP because of my age. I’m looking at another 3 or more years just to apply with my full time schedule and raising my young children. But his story is so inspirational and I’m so glad I found your channel. It’s encouraging to know that my age won’t keep me out of medical school.

Thanks for sharing! I’m in the process of enlisting in the army to help pay for school so I can finish my undergrad. I failed out in 2014 and finally decided it’s time to go back. My ultimate goal is med school but since I’m basically starting over with undergrad and will be 34/35 until i can even begin to apply…i thought that ship had sailed. But this gives me hope that it’s not too late and it’s not going to be too late once i actually reach that point!

I’m 30 and a truck driver but have always wanted to pursue a career in medicine but terrified of the debt to get there. Probably just gonna go for it regardless I think I will regret it if I don’t. Starting from scratch as a pre med freshman gonna be a long road.

I'm 34 right now (january 2024) and I think I'm too old to persue a medical degree. Maybe I should try.

I am 28 and did Chemical Engineering and my biggest worry about applying for medicine is funding especially accommodation since I'll have to leave home and it's expensive. I'm not really sure what route to take but I'm not happy with being an engineer anymore.
