OLDEST PUMP IN THE UK!?!? Cornwall Fire and Rescue [Falmouth/Newquay/Tolvaddon]

Certainly a competitor for the UK's oldest pump, from cornwall. This video contains turnouts from Falmouth, Newquay and Tolvaddon fire stations. Thanks to the crew at all stations mentioned for the hospitality.

I believe the oldest operational pump is currently at St Just (Cornwall) running an R reg Merc after 26 years appropriately names Justin 😂

Very nice, in my county in Ireland we have a few 90s volvos and mercs, oldest ones are a 1991 and 1993

Probably not the oldest in the whole country, but certainly the oldest for a ‘large’ population’s area, fire station. (Hope that made sense). Great video!

Cornwall is very pro-electronic with its warning systems these days, the X reg likely got an electronic retrofit sometime during its operational life. As for the older R reg, they probably didn’t bother with retrofitting that as it’s reaching its end of life soon.

Out of curiosity why did some appliances say green and white? But one said Newquay I get Newquay being the station but green and white thrown me

Alright mate, you’ve got the station bit right of course. Cornwall FRS names their reserves after colours to make it easier and quicker. Eg Blue reserve, Green reserve, Red, Yellow, White

@@avonemergency fair enough makes sense our ambulances have reserves but they all have red batternburg on the back doors compared to the usual orange and yellow

@@avonemergencyI think the truck’s from 1997, when they still identified a vehicles plate by the first letter (R=‘97, S=‘98 T and V= ‘99) They continued this until 2001 when the easier year-based identifier started (01/51 = 2001, 10/60 = 2010, 24/74 = 2024 etc.) The way to tell the difference is that the old letter system would usually have 3 numbers on the plate, and the new year-based system only has two numbers (the year that it was registered) (I’m Australian but this is my rough understanding of it)
