The only correct way for a steak to be cooked is medium-rare. When I was in Argentina I was never asked how I wanted the steak to be done. It was cooked as the chef thought it should be cooked based on the cut of beef. Medium rare was standard. In one case the cut called for rare.

^^ this. sorry, I know my comment was a little harsh, I'm just so sick of people perpetuating myths about meat. bacteria only grows on the outside, and beef is one of those foods than can be safely eaten raw (ie steak tartar) you won't get food poisoning from rare steak, provided it is handled safely by the cook. and so when beautiful cuts of meat get overcooked to chewiness and toughness it's upsetting. basically I'm just sick of the people in the comments like 'rAw MeAt SO DANGEROUS' ...so if they won't respect our food choices I don't see a reason to respect them back.

Well, they might be wrong and make a mistake by saying that it's raw and whatnot but it's not a reason to be disrespectful... I mean, don't we all make mistakes sometimes?
