He’s, I am and have been so intrigued with just the joinery….but just as much as with the German use of levers&levers….all symbolic of dedication in my eyes….

Strange that they do not seem to have invented the chimney and simply have a fire in the middle of the living space.
The technology shown here is amazing. Leveling the site, setting stone, main beam, cutting timber to fit the stone, cutting many joints, the thatching, and everything in between. I don't know how to express beyond awe.
This is fantastic. Thank you for sharing this. I hope this tradition stays alive.

The sophistication, systematic approach, collective work and absolute eye for detail of Japanese old building techniques are unrivaled. I work in construction in Australia were houses in general are quite poorly and dumbly build. It is fascinating to see that some of these techniques and construction procedures are way better than modern ones in terms of sustainability, durability and aesthetic value. This is such a fascinating learning material.

Interesting insight into traditional Japanese building.Thank you for sharing.
Wonderful, very usable information, thank you. :) Subscribe

This is the true country of God, the tradition of Japan. The world of the future will be a world of harmony and love, and Mother Nature will be the true God. Let's stop worshiping idols and hope for a world that coexists with the gods of nature! Thank you to everyone from abroad for watching and commenting.
