Just got into catapults at 55 years old, was pretty rubbish until I followed your instructions, not just in this video but your other ones as well, and had plenty of practice, now the wifes daffodils have all got their heads missing (big trouble) and I can hit snails on our garden wall at ten yards, (obviously not ever time) but a massive improvement, thank you.

Just found and subscribed. We went to an event last weekend and Zachary Fowler winner of History Channel's Alone season 3 made us each a slingshot. Having fun learning how to shoot them. Thanks for the videos. You wife and daughter sure are good shots! The competition video was the one that came up in my feed.

In my military marksmanship training we were taught to squeeze the trigger while gently exhaling. I’m taking my breath as I draw back, holding while I aim, then exhale as I release the pouch. This is a work in progress, but I’m enjoying the process. Your children are precious angels.

One of the lessons I learned shooting Archery was the importance of FOLLOW THROUGH after the shot, and I haven't seen it addressed in any how to shoot a slingshot videos. Which is the subconscious tendency to anticipate the shot and relaxing one or both of your hands and/or the body position prematurely, also called peeking. The fix is to hold your entire hand and body positions until the shot hits the target. Then relax. Also allow a brief time interval between the shots. To allow the muscles to recover and your brain to process the prior shot. Don't hurry and instantly begin reloading for the next shot thus blurring all the shots together!

Just a quick comment on the rifle sights bit. The "V" is the bit closest to the eye. The "bead" is the far bit. For most rifle shots, to not obscure your target, bury the bead in the V, so that you can just barely see the bead. Then squeeze. BANG!!

AWESOME Video, brother! Its a lot like Archery! Should have figured, that would be the case? Makes sense! I use to try with sling Shots/Catapults YEARS ago, to just frustration. I am an Archer so might need to try this again. It just didnt resonate, for lack of a better descriptive. Cute family you have,Sir! If you are like me...Thank God for good looking Mother?!!! OUCH....did you just hit from way out there? I am in US!!!! Awesome shot! Wait, my wife is laughing..."Dang right! You know its the truth!"! I dont know what she hit me with...but it stings 🤣 Guess I should have learned how to type, without looking at my fingers? 🤣🤣

Shooting above 45° you need to add hold over. You just need to find out how much to aim below for your target at different distances/angles. Have a look at some air rifle videos on KZfaq, it might make more sense looking through a scope at hold over/under.
