1990 I was 24 and getting out of the USN. Listened to Aerosmith, White Snake, Scorpions, Dio, GnR, Bon Jovi....... Even I recognize this just enough to change the Radio station.

Hahaha! I was born in 1986 n even I recall hearing that song on the local hip hop/r&b dance station several times in 1996/'97. Never knew it's title but, I do agree it has a catchy beat/tune to it. I'm a big Techno/EDM/Dubstep fan so that tune ain't that bad to me. Hell, my favorite song from the '90's is still "Show Me Love" by Robin S.. Now, my favorite song of all time is "Stamp on the Ground" by Italobrothers. RAVE FUREVER!!!!!!😆😆😆

I don't know how old your daughter caroline was when you guys reviewed this video about two years ago but my sister was 12 years old back in 1990 when this song came out and she reacted the exactly the same as caroline .She hated it.Watching this bought back memories to seeing my sister hate it to from way back then.

This was a fun song to dance to back in 1990. However I preferred their 1992 Album more. Ms. Kirby flexed her vocal chops much more on that album. Check out the track "Thank You Every Day". she shows off more of her range.

You didn't mention that Bootsy Collins was the bass player in James Brown's band before he joined Funkadelic. He played bass on James Brown's funk classics like Sex Machine, Super Bad, Soul Power, Talkin' Loud and Sayin' Nothing, etc.

IT WAS A WORLD WIDE HIT...I adored it..I was 16. Just about to fall in love with a 24yr old but about to have heart broke by the last of my childhood chicks (the innocent dating times) after her I grew up in all ways with the 24yr old who had kids.i lived with her. Great song....one of my all time favourites.

The dancemoves in the pink costumes must be inspired by The Bangles Walk like an egyptian from 86. Thanks to your daughter and you for this reaction, her comments are priceless, her saying shes loosing braincells from this. I don't know in other countries but I remember in the Philippines during my teenage years. The resurface of 60's and 70's gad were all over. I was used to wear bell bottom pants, bots, tie and die shirts or shirts with psychedelic prints trying to pull the "Bee Gees Look" and this songs and other similar songs.

That’s okay your daughter didn’t like the song. She’s young and still needs to develop appreciation for “the funk.” I too am a Bootsy Collins fans going back to his days playing with James Brown. You get a true sense of the lineage of funk from James Brown, George Clinton, and the P-Funk All Stars.
