Ole Miss, Lane Kiffin hype train leaves the station | Here's 4 Transfer Portal Names to Watch

Today's Locked on Ole Miss podcast we talk about the 2024 Football team hype train leaving the station with a couple of way to early articles talking about what the Ole Miss Rebels can be in wins and in Power Rankings. 247 Sports put out an article about teams that could show out in the 2024 season and listed a win total for Lane Kiffin and the Rebels. Michael Bratton released his initial power rankings of the SEC and where he though Ole Miss Football lines up against Georgia Bulldogs, Alabama Crimson Tide and Texas Longhorns.
In the second segment of the show we talk about the transfer portal and close the show talking about four names that Ole Miss fans need to pay attention to starting with Cole Rusk who is slated to visit this weekend. The FCS All America TE from Murray State could be a potential replacement for Khirin Heath who transferred out last month. We also talk about Percy Lewis from Mississippi State who recently gave his top 8 and where that recruitment stands up.
In our final segment of the day we talk about two other players that are on the edges of the Ole Miss sphere starting with D'Quan Douse from the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and why it is probably good practice to always pay attention when a Jacket Defensive Lineman appears as long as Jared Ivey and Akelo Stone on the team. We also look at Cashius Howell from the Bowling Green Falcons as a G5 target to watch moving forward.

Even Paul Finebaum had to break yesterday and bring up Lane Kiffin and the transfer magnet with one he was interviewing. Usually the network attempts to ignore Ole Miss but the other talking head had upbeat positive tone regarding Ole Miss. Steve your analysis on how Bama got beat was great haven't seen that angle anywhere else so far. The started playing Big 10 like.

Every one be careful about completely jumping in , I can’t see coach going anywhere , but remember he has been here longer than anywhere I think , next year will tell the story when dart , Harris , Judkin , it will be a miracle if they can get judkins and Harris to spend another year after dart leaves next year , now the money that it would take a buy out , it would take huge pockets , but it can happen

I'm no football guru, but you just described what seemed obvious as well as puzzling about Bama's offense: very predictable and unimaginative. It was as if they were sure they had superior dudes who would eventually win if they just kept doing the same thing--almost an arrogant attitude. Let the SEC down against the Big10. Also the undisciplined mistakes and repetitive, uncorrected low centers that materially affected offensive options negatively!? Couldn't coach up or replace the center OL?

We have to protect Kiffin at all costs. Without knowing him or his thoughts, I DO think he is happy here. He has an administration that fully supports him and are doing in their power to provide him the resources needed to build a championship team. His road is tougher than other places to the top BUT he knows he can make top tier money with lower expectations at Ole Miss; while also having the chance to land the talent needed to win the big games.

Wait a sec, next season we'll be more talented, with a (generally accepted) easier schedule... but still only win 10 games? Anything less than 11-1 will be a disappointment.

They are arguing a loss in Death Valley or to Oklahoma along with a loss to UGA Like I can see it but I agree its the floor

@@fate8718 Well, IMO it's about time for Georgia to lose a reg season game and I can't think of a better time and place than next season in VHS. Frankly the LSU game has me a bit more concerned because of the rivalry factor.
