Can you do this gain with the lights turned off in a dark room enviroment next time. I would like to see the difference between these two in the dark.

The color on OLED is something else and two times better. Look only on the grass and different in shadows

the issue with a lot of vids on these QD OLEDs is they all look really pink as they don't adjust for it. Likely something to do with the QD film they use in the panels. RDR2 looks nothing like that in person and tbh you would be kinda surprised how close they can look. That said any scene with stars or lots of dark areas with lots of bright highlights OLEDs destroy mini led and the difference can be seen easily.

@@lilpain1997 I also thought the oled g9 looked pinkish. maybe with some adjustments, the mini-led can have the same saturation as the oled, just not the contrast.

@@DarkionAvey it happens on pretty much all QD OLEDs, I took a few screenshots of mine next to other OLEDs, ips etc and they always look pink. In reality the Neo G9 is a lot closer than this due to that.

Neo can definitely be really good, I think the tone mapping is a little to struggle that blows everything out. With the proper adjustment, I believe it would look much better than the OLED with its HDR highlights.

No problem and it doesn’t natively support it, but it definitely works I haven’t had any issues running it with my 4090 🙂

Look, I have a question for you I primarily don’t do a lot of gaming but I like a wide screen monitor because I have to work with large multicolumn spreadsheets. However, I also care about the aesthetics of the monitor. When I’m working on spreadsheets allowed Jaheim which one does a better job of displaying clear and sharp text with clear contrast. Also, right now you can get the OLED for $1799 and the price just dropped on the neo G9 to $1099.

So i have the samaung odyssey g9 neo thats a little over a year old. Im going from a 3070 to a 4090 (arrives in 2 days!!). Ive always used a display port connector, would you recommend for me to continue using that or switch to hdmi?

Does the FPS have a noticeable difference between the two screens? Was wondering if there’s like a minimum level of graphics cards we’d require for such a screen to still play on maximum settings

For maximum settings even with a 4090, I'm not pushing the max frames of 240 fps. This resolution is super tough to push and I'd say just to get stable frames I'd recommend a 4070 at the least.

Do you use the local dimming on high or low? The side bars on the G9 Neo appear to be greyish.

High I believe, I highlighted this in my comparison video at the slightest off angle the Neo kinda looks grayish compared to the inky blacks of the OLED because it doesn’t have perfect viewing angles like the OLED panel.

yeah I just pulled the triggeron the OLED G9....I have the OG G9 Odyssey and it rocks with my 4090, but after seeing this and purchasing a Samsung OLED TV this past year, I am 1 million percent convinced that OLED is better in every way. Only saddened about the 1800R curve...and why does it have to be silver? And why does it only have one DP? Those are my only issues.
