The meeting point dismantle was brutal to watch. You ended up putting the shared table in the same place that you could have with the meeting point in the original place, but the new meeting point was in a much worse location that stops you expanding upwards.

Relaxing stand (in the COMMUNITY research tree, next to the social stuff) can help cure the distressed pip, which will remove the permanent +1 to fear :) If you already noticed this later, then don't mind me. Just noting, Sick is a status by itself, not just having "any" status. Distressed is healed in the relaxing stand, while the Sick is healed in the healer stand (or whatever its called, they look too similar tbh). The Stun cannot be healed, or at least the game doesn't tell you anything about that option (while distressed or sick do say how to treat it)

@@OlexaYT forage stations still work for berries so at minimum if you don't prep at all you can survive with 1/2 pips all foraging. Setting up egg production and gloop with a cauldron or butchering station and BBQ is an easy way to make it through. Winter is not as long as the other seasons.

After playing this game for about 8-10 hours, watching this playthrough is like witnessing a controlled trainwreck. You know that eventually shit will hit the fan, but can't stop being impressed by all of the efforts.

I didnt really use the chicken coop so far, but i did build it once and i remember that it did not use the wild chickens at all. Also the buildings that work with adjacent chickens will only count the ones in coops. The wild chickens can be hunted either for meat or for feathers, both options require a different building.

Health is definetly the most important domain, I had a phenomonal early game and 1 lost health event snowballed into another one and all of a sudden, almost half of autumn is wasted

I think all of them important, it's just depends how far in you got. I had good run, with all events on "good", but then lost a 97% chanse in cold event, arrows just stick at the right end, and half of my pips got frozen. On one hand they don't need food, but also they can't do anything. And worst thing is, I still didn't unlocked building to cure them, as well as new instruments to train pip to work in that building, and I need to do all of this while preparing protection against upcoming events with just half of my pips.

@@RolandLory I think my take on sickness wasnt actually true, the threat level on health was 3 which adds 7 sickness every turn while my other domains were chilling on 1 or 2 threat

Hey great video! I bought this and man... gonna start getting rough. Hope you do another playthrough! Berries are not as good, but until you upgrade the town hall, you can only store 40 of each, so you could have 40 berries and 40 tomatoes ready for winter for example. The more different food types the more you can store.

Was playjng this game because of the channel, and my first run on normal crashed and burn spectacularly. All my pips died except 3 guys who got perma frozen, making them immune to almost everything expect "sudden death" event. Run ended on day 99. Next run on easy is going better, just made the first year rotation.

Just got the game two days ago and my first attempt was going through the tutorial, fell asleep after eating and when I saw the 5 hour playtime I decided to restart as I was barely 10 days in. In the next attempt, I raged at losing two back to back events at 80% success and decided to end the run. Was about day 50 or so. This newest playthrough, I've optimized and did prevention progress on the domains and learned that there was more better research tech that I never noticed since I never researched paper early in the previous run. Now I have more than survived every day with only one close encounter when I got back to back sick events. I'm almost on the tier 4 research building that gives about 40 research points on a fully optimized building set-up.

One thing I love about this game is that in the encyclopedia you can right-click on almost everything and be taken to its entry, which shows you all the links it shares to everything else in the game

Try putting a rolled soil under a berry bush. You’ll get 6 berries per harvest instead of 4. I discovered it by accident lol

Upon reaching this episode, I went and bought the game, played through the first year over the course of about 3.5 hours, and then came back to watch more. I ended up with an AMAZING spawn, with 3 berry bushes right near double chickens and a water pool that had tons of space around it, so I've been able to get almost perfect adjacency bonuses on basically everything.

Whoever told you to get off of research doesn't know what the HECK they're talking about, research is easily the most important resource after food. Also you do know which domain between heat and cold is coming thankfully, they're actually named accordingly If it's heat it will say heat, if it's cold it will say cold. (I did the same thing at first I was like, WHICH ONE SHOULD I BE MAKING?! 😂) Honestly I think you're doing great, so many people giving you shit for making mistakes, but like, that's just how the game wants you to learn, and you haven't failed an event yet, so idk what they're complaining about. I love this series and hope you play it long enough to get to when it starts getting really hectic, but the 10 hour runs are not a joke. 😅

So the game in fact says "You are DOOMED, Tyler!!!" ... ... but I'm not totally convinced yet. I believe in you! And what could possibly go wrong? We all know your expertise, the deep impact of your wise and logical decisions and the experience you show with a broad spectrum of games that you brought up to mastery. Bro, I've never played this game, I know it's your first playthrough and you probably had a long day in work, but this episode was PAINFUL to watch.
