I’ve never used a Wuben, but I’d like to pick one up soon. For me I’ve always been a fan of the Baton due to the fact I work with my hands often in low light. The small size and ease of clipping it on my hat for hands free is great. But I could see the adjustable head coming in handy also. Thanks for the comparison peasant in chief!

I got the Wuben. And I love it. I’m a security guard at a museum and I love the red light when I’m either opening or closing the building. It gives me the right amount of light and it doesn’t mess with my night vision. Love the swivel head I can either wear it on my hat or on my shirt pocket and be hands free.

I seen that baton 4 has adjustable dimmer while in the case with the button 👍so it really doesn’t have to come out of the case which is pretty cool. Have a great Thanksgiving .

Great content mate, I would take baton 4 because of its magnetic tail, tip down or tip up carry clip and I can take a few silicone dome cover for diffusion either it’s red, orange or white.

I can say olight has great customers service and warranty they stopped making my light sent me a new model of the latest no question asked.

You didn't tell us what the max. power was for the Wuben. It would also be helpful to compare how long each operates at turbo mode and to what power level they drop after that period.

I personally use the olight perun 2 mini, with the baton 4's charging case, as it has the red light option with it... I like the forward facing and the option for it being a headland, where the baton 4 just isnt as useful

My Wuben X3 has 1200 max lumens and no red light. I got it from kickstarter so not sure it’s for sale on the site but very cool light

I own several Wuben Flashlights and I cannot express how happy I am with all of them especially the new X3 Owl. It is such a little powerhouse of a flashlight. The rotating head and indicator screen just set this flashlight ahead of all other EDC lights.

I’m curious how you find the X3 to be a “powerhouse”. Take the Olight Perun 2 mini for example, it has a high level of 250 lumens for 110 minutes which outperforms the X3 at 150 lumens for 120 minutes. Not to mention the Perun 2 mini has a turbo of 1100 lumens compared to the X3 at just 700. I love the X3’s design, but it is absolutely not a power house and does not measure up to the other options out there in terms of light output. Not to mention the size and weight of the X3 make it bigger and heavier in the pocket so calling it “little” seems to be a stretch. I really wish it was a powerhouse because I find the package to be very attractive otherwise, as it is I can’t justify spending the money on the X3 when the Perun 2 mini goes for as little as $49 on sale.

Compared to the two flashlights, the X3 not only beats the other product in terms of appearance, but also in terms of a lot of features, where is the link to the X3 deal?

I wish I liked my wuben x3 more. I was attracted by the unique features (I usually use a Olight Perun 2 mini) like multidirectional light, visual display, charging brick, usb-c/qui charging. But ultimately it was seemingly little details of the Perun (and likely lots of other lights with similar style) that worked better for me. As an example, comparing the X3's boxy 2 directional body vs Perun's single directional rounded body, the rounded body had much more directional control over where the light is facing. Because the clip rotates with the body, I can set it on a flat surface, pointing forward, up, or anywhere in between, Same when clipped onto a shirt, hat, or magnetic surface. With the magnetic surface, the Perun has a single fixed point which means it's smaller and fits on more things, but that also but especially so when changing the angle for lighting. The other thing that I didn't anticipate on the x3 was how stiff the clip is. I had a difficult time getting it opened enough even to clip on very thin objects, even when using 2 hands. I've had stiff clips on lights before, and tried to carefully stretch it some so it's not so lock tight, but overdid it and now the clip is too loose (not Wuben's fault, but still factors into my desire to use the light). Looking back, I would have been better off getting the Baton, especially realizing now that it would also have worked to charge my Perun in the same charging kit.

I've bought many Boruit*s for me and for gifts because they've got red, blue, white, yellow, rotating heads, small, waterproofed and cheaper than any Wuben x3 or Olight. I recommend. I have also had many Royvon and I have to say. They felt more premium and I loved them, for a while until all of them broke down! So why not buy a Boruit for half the price or 3 for one? In many versions,, similar concepts as Wuben and Royvon.

Although I own several Olight flashlights, as an administrative light the Wuban's design and features beat the Olight and I already carry a primary 'thrower' so taking advantage of the Olights 1300 lumen turbo mode doest tilt the equation in Olight's favor. Plus, the Olight seems like a rehash of an old design where the Wuban seems like a newer design. The Wuban to me, however, is untested in terms of reliability and customer service. Absent any complaints about Wuban, I'd go with them - in six months after evaluating durability and support. Meanwhile, I have a Sh*t-ton of flashlights, so there's no rush.

A nice thing about the wuben is if you have a samsung phone you can reverese wirelees charge the flashlight from the phone

@@stephenshanebeaty depends on your phone put in your pull down quick controls (pull down from top of phone) one of options is Wireless power sharing. Turn that on that you can wirelss charge a device by setting it on the back of your phone. If you have a case on your phone you may have to take the case off

The battery pack feature on the baton case is what sold me. I was really looking at the owl as well. But the update on the baton with the case made it way more even and ultimately made me go with that.

The Olight outperforms the wuben in lumens per minute run time. As a matter of personal preference either one will do. When it comes to performance there isn’t even a question.

Olight has a removable and replaceable battery whilst wuben!!! Plus wuben is very chunky to have in pocket computer Olight.

When the battery finally stops charging, you can replace it on the Olight instead of having to buy a whole new light, pushed me towards buying the Olight.

I heard you say a first light or even a 1nlight option, I love both lights but the problem here is that that's a lot of money for a disposable light which the Wunan definitely is all battiers have a certain amount of cycles before done and this can drop drastically from different factors this is where the Wuban losses all that functionality as using it in its full potential light as a backup change will drop the cycles a lot that means yoy will have to throw it away and buy a new one fairly often and the fact that we know nothing about the battery inside is very worrisome as we can not even be sure it can handle such things at its recommended operating temperature if not this will even further cut the life span of the light as someone that loves lights but also deal with lithium batteries a lot i would say this is a amazing light in so many ways but executed very poorly as a long use tool however mafe perfect to capitalize on the companies new found popularity, things luke this make me worry if the business model is high volume then change names when issues arise like many Chinese companies instead of building a base and a reputation of great items that last. I do hope the plan on staying and improving as I am very impressed with their new forward thinking out of the box designs. Now just show you are building things that last forever and keep coming out with stuff we love we will keep buying for that reason.
