The PL-Pro is more interesting to me, as it's pretty much the same size as my PL-2 but rechargeable. The upside to the PL-2 over the Pro is that you can swap batteries if you are in the middle of working with the gun and don't have the time or ability to recharge the sealed battery in the Pro.

I really liked my PL Pro until it got about 1000 rounds over it and then when the finish started to wear it started having grounding issues and it would decide when it wanted to come on, on its own. And to be fair I’ve been using there SR2 Baton and had no issues, but that’s also the same lights that have been exploding in pockets. Also one of my friends had an Odin and had the same issue as my PL Pro. I don’t like to bash on products for no reason, but I’ve only had bad experiences with them so far. My PL Pro was a .357 mag and my buddy’s Odin was on a 14.5 5.56 by the way

@Wimmig43at339
@Wimmig43at339 7 ай бұрын
You can buy an Olight made mount for the Odin series, they all use the same Surefire scout mounting platform and Olight makes them, which can be bought separately. Honestly it’d be better to buy a more high end mount. Bobro Engineering makes one that swivels up and down and quick detaches from the mlok slot, I don’t regret buying mine for my Odin Mini on my SBR. It cost just over $100 after taxes and shipping, almost as much as the light itself, but imo it’s worth it. Where I like to have my light mounted, with the Olight mlok mount I cannot fold my Troy front sight up or down because the light is in the way of the mechanism that lets it fold and open. With my new mount, I just have the positioned enough for clearance for the front sight to work freely, and boom, it works wonders. Battery is low? Boom, quick detach the mount and I can easily charge my light without having to stand my rifles by a plug-in.

@@Wimmig43at339 Dude that was 2 years ago. While I appreciate your input, my point was that a flashlight that costs in excess of $100 should come with the means to attach it via the most common interface in existence. M-Lok was just about industry standard then and is ubiquitous now. I don’t remember exactly what I had to pay for a mounting adapter, but it was pretty expensive and should have been included.

Personally I have no use for a light with no "splash" It is neat that it has so much throw, but I figure a lot of people will be it and find out that they can not co-witness it with there sights. I have the mini odin and I believe it is about perfect as far as throw and splash and the quick disconnect is nice. I would like to see the light mount be adjustable. In a close and dirty scenario it could be used as laser sight.

I guess it’s that time a month right before payday when no one has any money. It’s time for a FlashLight sale LOL! For one of those hundred dollar plus flashlights. Here’s a really good suggestion to give this company have the FlashLight sales right after the first of the month or the first two weeks of the month. Don’t wait till the end of the month when people have run out of money to purchase anything other than food and gasoline. You actually might sell more flashlights. Or is that the tactic where you don’t really want to sell the flashlights for a cheaper price and sell more of them. You’re just warning to not sell them for the reduced price...

They're just down on them because they're made in China, like 90% of everything else these hypocrites buy is. They're good value lights in my opinion, and while Surefires are nice lights, I think they're too expensive for a flashight. I don't know of anyone else that has a comparable rechargeable design, which for home defense is really nice. Chris has reviewed various products of mine, never paid him a dime, gave him ammo, or even asked him for a review. He is an absolute stand up dude and would not shill. I know of and hate Olight and other companies paying reviewers for reviews. I cannot say for sure that Chris has not been paid by Olight - although I can say several things on this matter: Chris has never asked for payment for reviews, nor has it even been mentioned in any discussions with him. There are several other reviewers out their that have been the same, but they are not the norm. Olight’s quality is WAY better better than what people think. I am not paid by them, and I do not like that they are made in China or are a Chinese company. But, similarly to Holosun, after tons of hard testing in conjunction with our products, I have come to use Olight on many things, most notably as my EDC light. They are not only competitive, but as far as EDC lights go, they are the best that exist, on multiple levels. I was an emergency locksmith before getting into this industry, and my edc light was a primary tool. I have tried many, done shit loads of research. Even having way more Olights than I do both Stream lights and Surefires, I have had MANY more failures with them, and that’s with much softer treatment, both in actual testing and use. Chris - HonestOutlaw - does not shill.

You're one of my favorite KZfaq channels so seeing you shill for olight, the company with lights that have literally killed their users before, with a coupon code and all that is pretty disheartening. This doesn't seem like an honest review at all, olight is notorious for paying for good reviews. I own an Odin mini myself and it's definitely not a duty WML or one that I would take seriously, it's nice for home defense I suppose but the battery life is garbage and it gets unnervingly hot when used for longer than 1 minute. I know you get paid for every light sold with your coupon code and your links and all that, and I can't knock you for making money, but don't sacrifice your reputation as an honest reviewer by accepting money from olight for a good review. Arm&Gun did the right thing when everyone pointed out how terrible olight is to him when he tried to shill for them too by pulling the endorsements after doing his own research. It really sucks knowing I might have to take the opinion of one of my favorite and more trusted gear reviewers with a brick of salt from now on. 😐

@@civilian0005 home defense is a lot different of an application than a general purpose carbine, which is what I have my rifle set up as. The light is marketed as a duty light, and it isn't, no olights are. I'm not talking out of my ass, I have experience with this company. I actually kinda like their handheld/carry lights despite my best interest, but they're not tools I will bet my life on. Not sure why you feel the need to call me a clown for not sucking off a Chinese flashlight company plagued with issues. Do they pay you too? 😂
