I used to watch this every year as a child. I'm 22 now and this movie randomly popped in my head while trying to go to sleep. I found this and now the nostalgia hurts so bad, I miss the old days.

After Ed Asner passed away, I was looking through his IMDB to see what he was in, and seeing he voiced Santa in this awoke a memory deep inside of watching this every Christmas. Glad I remembered this movie, and Rest In Peace Ed Asner. We won’t forget you.

This is unironically my favorite Christmas movie, the other being Polar Express. There's just something very endearing about Olive being so determined to help however she can, even if people don't believe her and even if she's not actually a reindeer. She just honestly wants to help, even if people laugh at her; This pup that's been called weirdo most of her life for not acting "normally". Though wtf flea bud. That misheard convo was so messed up.

"I always thought the Pledge of Allegiance was about me, Richard Stands." This special is much, MUCH funnier than I expected.

Am I the only one who never really thought of it this way. The main character's names were Olive and Martini.

I remembered FOX promoting this special when I was 8. I remembered seeing this special for the first time and I loved it. I'm 32 now and I still watch it every year.

Olive’s speech to the bar patrons is one of my favorite Christmas speeches of all time. Even if you aren’t feeling jolly, why make terrible memories for yourself to remember Christmas by? You don’t have to be super good, but does that really mean it’s okay to be bad around the only time of year where you don’t have to feel that way?

You know what, that postman didn't doubt that Olive could do it. Everyone else supported her, but they didn't really think she could do it. Martini only partly believed in her when they were at the North Pole. The Postman fully believed that Olive was fully 100% capable of saving Christmas. Sure, he mocked her once when she told him, but that doubt didn't last. He believed in her, and he was committed to stopping this dog from saving Christmas.

Truly, never stop believing. Olive’s love for Christmas and Tim gave her the courage to stand up to so much opposition. I mindlessly watched this as a kid, but now I’m appreciating just how heartwarming this is

I remember being in the 3rd grade and in my class we had popcorn and hot coco while watching... Olive the other reindeer, Frosty the snowman 1969, Rudolf the red nose reindeer 1964, and last but not least The polar express. good times :')

I absolutely adored this special growing up and I am so glad that it still holds it's magic all these years later. I really wish there was more Olive content, she's truly a special dog and reindeer.

Out of all the jokes, the one that gets me is when Olive is in the mail truck and reads the package "To Olive, From Deus Ex Machina." That is hilarious. For those who don't get it, that is a film term where the writers literally use a random object or person to get the character out of trouble.

All these years later, and every single joke still lands. God, I love this movie.

I loved this as a kid but the real reason I'm here nearly a month after Christmas is because the actor who plays Ralphy, one of the biggest bastards on The Sopranos, plays Martini the Pebguin in this and I think that is just fantastic

God, I don't remember this movie being so funny when I was younger. Martini is an absolute riot and the jokes written out for him are so well done.

I'm watching this at 21 for the first time since I was 8. I'm laughing at how much of this film influenced my personality and even interests. The artwork was so intriguing to me and the writing was shockingly witty and clever.

This is a favorite of my now 23 year old daughter and I for years now, and I share it with my students every year before Winter Break. It is now a classic! But still a pretty relevant and saavy classic!

Olive The Other Reindeer is one of my favorite Christmas specials of all time, I love it so much, I still remember when I was young and it being shown on Cartoon Network along with Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer :)

I loved this special so much as a kid. I was hoping Cartoon Network would pick it up to be it's own series...but that day never came. At the least I was hoping they would make a sequel to this movie covering the second Olive book "Olive my Love" where Olive has an adventure with Valentine's day

I'm in tears. Literally used to watch this every single year. I had a dog named Jackie who looked just like Olive and sadly, she passed away in September of 2014. I was a Junior in High School when she passed. I'll never forget her and I just came to realization that I can't watch this because it's still hard to deal with losing your best and only friend for so many years of your life even though that, that was only 6 years ago.

This is undoubtedly my generations Christmas classic. I vaguely remember getting the VHS to this in 2000 and watching it routinely, whether it was on VHS, cartoon network, DVD or etc. The music is unforgettable, the message is strong, and the humor is charming regardless of the age gap. Seeing this again after almost 15 years of not seeing it was like being transported into a bygone era of my life again. As an adult I was able to appreciate the more subtle jokes, like the one with Richard stans. Hearing Dan Castellaneta as the post man, you can also hear his Homer Simpson at times, but the fact I didn't draw the comparison for years really shows how well he did the role lol. Love this movie.

I loved this special as a kid. And i miss those moments going on the CN channel and watching Christmas classics outside of the Christmas specials they had for their shows. I still like them and I'm so glad the comments are still up for this so others can talk about it.

I remember seeing this as a teenager and actually recorded it when it came on tv. It's not the best holiday special but something about it just always made me smile. Also the 2D characters in a 3D world reminds me of Parappa the Rapper

Growing up with watching this EVERY christmas on CN, I still find myself coming back to it every year. Gosh I miss the old days

I remember seeing this in the early 2000s. I was obsessed with retro games at the time (I had just bought an NES from a store that sold used video games and consoles) and I bought a game to go along with it. The game sucked and the console itself didn't work too well. I was disappointed so I went downstairs to watch a rerun of Olive the Other Reindeer and it made me feel better so I'll always associate this movie with me feeling better. Also the guy who wrote this Christmas special also wrote for The Simpsons which explains why it's clever and funny. He wrote Hurricane Neddy which is one of the best episodes imo.

Drew Barrymore is really a gifted producer at this wonderful film. Her and Nancy Juvonen executive produced this film and accomplished it. Love Drew Barrymore and Dan Castellantea. ❤❤❤

The Postman is probably the best Christmas- special villain I've ever seen! Most Christmas- special baddies just hate Christmas because they're kind of jerks, but the Postman actually has a rather valid reason for it (As someone who has seasonally worked as a loader at a UPS hub, I know firsthand what a nightmare the Christmas season can be for anyone working in the mail/ parcel delivery service; Still I got through it by instead keeping in mind that I was playing a small role in helping others have a happier Christmas). The fact that he's voiced by Dan Castellaneta, aka the voice of Homer Simpson, makes him even cooler, plus of course his villain song rules! For that matter, ALL the songs in this amazing special are wonderful! My mom is a retired 2nd grade teacher, and she said that one time when she showed this special to her students, they all applauded at the end of it!

This has always been my favorite Christmas movie next to Home Alone. The nostalgia is real. And crazy to think this was made by Matt Groening, many jokes on this feels like something out of Futurama tbh. Just in a kid friendly movie.
