@@olivarryforce I don't ship Olivarry but they are definitely platonic soulmates. Neither Oliver nor Barry ever had a relationship like theirs with any other character on their respective shows. It's a one of a kind connection. It's healthy, endearing, playful, unconditionally loving, loyal and deep. I mean Stephen and Grant made these two superheroes feel so human and relatable; their relationship grounded the foundation of the Arrowverse. It rivals Supernatural's Sam and Dean perfectly, there will never be another duo like this on tv 😭❤❤❤

@@olivarryforce I swear I still get chills thinking of their very first episode together back in 2013. That day is so fresh in my mind remembering how much I enjoyed 2x08; it was fantastic as was 2x09 but the chemistry between Stephen and Grant was instant. It was so unexpected and all it took was that one line which made me laugh "do your parents know that you're here" lol. And after that I looked forward to all their scenes. Without that chemistry Oliver and Barry and the Arrowverse would've suffered embarrassingly. Watching Stephen and Grant's characters grow while their relationship developed over the years was extraordinary. I never would've thought back then that Olivarry's storyline would become so emotionally Epic and deep as it was. Two lead heroes from different shows forming this powerful bond/best relationship in the entire Arrowverse. And like I said they have the best friendship story in that franchise. If Stephen and Grant didn't hit it off ten years ago we would've never seen Olivarry's dynamic become as icon as it was 🥺❤

Same! When he walked up to Barry back on that island and they hugged each other I lost it. Didn't realize how much I missed Oliver Queen until I watched this episode. I missed him and his friendship with Barry so much. I'm so happy they gave us this final Olivarry gem to hold forever 😭😭

It was a beautiful sendoff to their relationship. I was surprised the Flash honoured them so well. I mean I quite watching the Arrowverse forever ago, only tuned in for the Olivarry crossovers and kept up to date on what was happening since Oliver's death. I actually cried seeing them together onscreen again knowing it was the final time. It reminded me of their first episode together on Arrow 2x08 and their whole greatest hits journey in between then to now. And I realized just how empty the Arrowverse really was since Stephen/Oliver's departure. It was a bittersweet love letter to fans 😭❤

When Barry called Oliver "Ollie" again the tears didn't stop. I remember how much Oliver despised that nickname because it reminded him of his old life before the island; when he was the spoiled arrogant rich kid. And over the years of both shows Oliver gave Barry the freedom to use that nickname making it so special because how often it was said with affection 😭💔

@@olivarryforce out of everyone in Oliver's life, Barry managed to be the only person to reinvent a hated nickname "Ollie" into something affectionate and respectful. I can't believe it was cut in Crisis because it's become so monumental for these two. The first time Barry used it was with arrogance under the influence of a meta who turned people angry. And over the years when he said it, there was so much warmth and caring. I actually think Oliver warmed up to "Ollie" when Barry said it because there was never any malice only love ❤😭

Can we address the fact that not only did Oliver admit that his sacrifice was for Barry. Not Kara, for HIM. And that he missed Barry so much; was worried about him (even though he won't openly say it) that he returned to Earth to fight alongside with and spend time with him (for much needed closure and a proper goodbye) on his freaking 30th birthday?! He freaking let Barry hug him tightly and longer knowing he missed him so much (despite that quip about being dead lol but both of them had tears of joy in their eyes). We already knew how Barry felt about Oliver; hence the fact that he never stopped grieving and missing his friend. But this episode very much subtly highlighted the depth of Oliver's affection for Barry. Something I've always wanted to see happen in the Arrowverse! His way of showing Barry love and affection has always been through actions instead of words. Oliver didn't want Barry to give up on himself nor did he want him to be consumed by his guilt and sadness. He wanted Barry to live and continue the legacy that Oliver started. To be happy. And most importantly he didn't want Barry to keep blaming himself for his death. At the risk of upsetting the cosmic balance he came back to earth for Barry to help him; not just with a baddie but for his wellbeing. If that's not the essence of unconditional love then I know nothing. Barry needed Oliver at that moment; just as much as Oliver needed him. The fact that he was watching out for Barry this whole time from the afterlife; witnessing him hurting after the events of Crisis. Oliver seized the opportunity to return the favor to his friend and give him back that healing light and hope he once gave him since they met. I also liked that Oliver basically expressed being proud of Barry by stating that no other Flash in the new multiverse impressed him and his "you made me a better man." The character development in this dynamic is beautiful 😭❤❤❤

@@spndusk2362 Yes! It took four years, almost five (literally since Elseworlds) for him to say the exact words, “That is why I sacrificed myself for you.” We always knew it was for Barry. Barry knew, he told Jefferson. Kara was just the icing to that cake; he saved her too because of how well he knew Barry and how good he thought he was. Arrow never outright addressed it either, besides 7.22, when it revealed the actual sacrifice from Elseworlds. He made it before he knew he was going to die, and before he knew about Mia. He did save his family and the Multiverse, but the sacrifice was initially for Barry- he made that decision, and he didn’t want to burden Barry, so he lied to him for a whole year. Except Barry was burdened and has grief & survivor’s guilt. Oliver had to make sure Barry wanted to live before making sure yet again he has a full life, using his powers to bring his friend that he loves back to life (even if it meant still being in the paradise dimension alone). I love that it’s essentially canon once Barry dies, he’ll end up where Oliver is. But Oliver won’t let that happen until he has a full life with his family. The fact that, in their bar scene in Elseworlds, Barry told Oliver he was a good man, and Oliver said, “I’m not as good as you think I am. But because of you, I think I’ll get there someday.” (Barry said Oliver was a good man at Oliver’s funeral.) And now their final bar scene, Oliver said, “You made me a better man.” It took sacrificing his life so Barry could live for Oliver to believe he was as good as Barry thought he was. And even in the end, Oliver didn’t want to say goodbye, he left before Barry looked back at him, sparing him from the burden again. I truly believe they’ll see each other again ❤ No matter the darkness, Oliver truly sees Barry as the light in their world, above all the Barrys in the Multiverse he watches over.

@@olivarryforce I found it interesting they used Lian Yu as the paradise dimension of heaven for Oliver and Barry to meet again. That island symbolizes so many things for both of these characters. Their isolation, burden and kinship of their destiny, pain, past traumas, determination to persevere. It reminded me of their conversation in Arrow 3x08 (aka their first official crossover & second heart to heart) when Barry mentions Lian Yu and how Oliver overcame that hell because of the light he carried inside himself. Oliver's time on the island got brough up many other times in his team ups with Barry when they talked about his father's sacrifice in Invasion and of course Elseworlds when Barry got to walk in Oliver's shoes. They had personal conversations with each other on/off screen about Oliver's past (things he never discussed with Team Arrow and that includes Barry being the only person in on his secret son). Yes I like that its canon they will be reunited again in the afterlife when Barry's time is up. Going back to Elseworlds that conversation they had about being each other and Barry said he would just outrun pain, grief and guilt so it wouldn't consume him. That was the year Oliver made his sacrifice for Barry, I've always wondered if Barry's words resonated with him in that moment. That he believed Barry truly wouldn't be burdened or succumb to pain as he mentioned previously on the farm; because Oliver later tells Barry that he had steel in him that he could carry any burden thrown his way. This makes me sad knowing that Oliver overestimated Barry's emotional stability to withstand losing him which was why he was subtly preparing him. And as we saw when Crisis happened and the three years prior to that tragedy, Barry could hardly survive it; he couldn't run from it no matter how fast he was. He spent all those years blaming/torturing himself. Oliver's gift to Barry, that mask he made, brought him to Lian Yu of all places; Oliver's island where he tried to deal with that grief. For this all to come back full circle in 9x09 because Oliver was worried about Barry, its incredibly powerful. A true testament of their impenetrable bond that not even death could break. It was like Oliver would not rest until he helped his friend heal enough to let go. But like you said Oliver refused to actually say "goodbye" to Barry which tells me that walking away was just as hard for him 😭😭

I watched it this morning and it was really good. And I've stopped watching Arrow and Flash long ago. Stephen and Grant's interaction is no doubt the best thing about the episode. It should've been them the full hour but I was happy with what we got. The sendoff to Olivarry was beautiful and exactly how it should be. I cried and smiled 😭❤
