Oliver HG-42 Crawler w/blade

Just playing in the snow a bit with my newest Oliver toy! I plan to use this in our plow day next year and definitely restore it someday. I'd like to get rid of that ugly orange somebody painted it. Thanks for watching!

With the price of everything these days, I'd say any color would be the correct color as long as it was doing it's job of providing protection to the machine at least till you get your building built....

I love how the Cletrac uses differential steering. It's a much better idea than clutch and brake...imo

Full power through the turn was one of their selling points. It was a cool design that was very popular. They sold a lot of units!

Seems like every machine on or farm during the war had a hercules engine in it. I think they put them in tanks. My son has a OC 3 that is like new. Still has original taillight on back. Owned by 2 families only. Runs and drives like new. I think it is about 48 inches wide. Has original hyd. and blade . I pushed 40 inch trees off back of property with it easy. GRIZ

You’re right, Hercules was a popular power plant for many applications back in the day. From my experience with them, they seemed to be a pretty solid and reliable engine. Awesome to hear about your son’s OC3. I’d love to see some video of it! I actually sold mine years ago now, but I’d like to get another one someday. They are such neat little machines. And handier than one would think!

measure centre to centre of the tracks if it is 42" its a 42👍

I plan to get a few acres some day. I would like one of these Cletracs to play around with, they look really useful and made well. I saw the vid of a guy cutting wood with the belt accessory, me want!

the id take is under hydraulic tank on side of rear differential/trans..

I really like those! What does the number "42" stand for? Is it the model and why did they pick the number "42" is so?

scolopede The 42 signifies the distance between the tracks. They came in 31, 42, 60 or 68. It just depended on what the customer was going to use it for. I actually sold this unit a few years back, but definitely would consider buying another someday. They are super cool!
